75mw sheild script
Ihad a nova but it was that slow, i used the 75mw script and now fly the mamba with 1 75mw sheild and it is the best thing since sliced bread,i can now catch must anythig i chase now,and my combat ratings are going up just fine,so i would like to thank all the scripters out there ,thanks Dennis

I am taking it for granted that the 75 mw sheild is = to 3 25mw sheilds as in the nova,so the mamba should be equal to the nova for sheilds Dennis

The point wasn't to give someone grief but rather to point out that if you start hacking the ships to make the game easier, why not go all the way.
Each ship within a class should have merits and downsides. Thats why they are different. If you remove this then you might as well only have one ship of each class

No, I think the point was that dh_mann used a script that made the game more fun for him and was thanking the people that helped to make the game more fun for him.
His idea of fun was to put a 75 MW shield in a Mamba. He didn't want to go all the way to aone or more 125 MW shields or kill M2 ships in one shot. Sarcasm, particularly by a moderator, is uncalled for simply because you disagree with his idea of fun.

Thanks again,a point to the snipers,instead of having a go at me for useing a script why dont you have a go at EGOSOFT for putting the script editor in the game or am i just an easy target Dennis

that's right...
i'm using this mod too and it's been said several times: the only one i can cheat in this game is me...okay, maybe the khaak...but they started first cheating...damn clusters...
the 75mw idea is IMHO great...beside some missing balancing...i guess 2 75mw for a nova would be more than enough...
but still it's no real cheating...would ships like the m6 class be more integrated in the story and the environment itself i wouldn't need that mod...

True....I don't care one bit about who does what with their game and wasn't pointing the finger at anybody. I was defending the script engine from the people that think it's just there for cheaters to use and no good could come from it. It's there and can be used to improve the game or someone can use it to "cheat". Just as long as they realize that it takes away from the game when you do this. There is one problem that changing the shield settings like that will have on your game.
You're basically flying around in a high power M4 when you fly the Mamba. To stay alive, you need to be an excellent pilot, and be able to split-S and barrel roll your way out of trouble.
THAT's the point of the Mamba. If you give it massive shields, you aren't cheating, you're actually altering the whole point of the craft itself. You're going to miss out on the whole "seat of your pants" thing that Mambas provide.
I fly a Mamba when I want to slaughter pirates, I fly a Nova when facing down Khaak and for capturing. IMHO, the way the Mamba is presented is classic of the series, and it gives the ship flavor. To give it 75MW worth of sheilding, without correspondingly upping EVERY other ships shields, well, it just devalues the play experience. You're cheating yourself man.
