[NOT A Bug - v1.2.1] Immediate Docking if you are within 3-5km range.

Post by MrRobbit »

If the user is approximately 3 to 5km of the Argon Federal Shipyard in Argon Prime and then selects auto dock. The user's ship will immediately warp to the docking bay of the shipyard.

note: as this bug has just been found, I have not attempted to try it on other shipyards (in the process of recreating in other sectors).

-Update-

Just attempted this bug on an Ore Mine in Emperor Mines @ 4.30km and the above bug occured.

Yes I do, the manual makes a reference to the docking computer but it doesn't indicate if it performs instant docking.

If it does, fine. It's just I've never seen it do this before (probably never been that close to initiate immediate docking)

Wait -- what if there are still people that don't know about this feature ?

Good question, I've owned all of the X titles and it's the first time I've come across it. I'll remove my request to delete the thread.

Also, why doesn't the docking computer kick in when the auto-pilot has been activated?

Funny -- my main objective [back from --ELITE-- ] was to get a DC.
I probably couldn't play the game without it.
But some people still don't like the idea ... :?

Let's see..

In earlier versions of X, at least in X3 you had a separete shortcut for docking and Docking computer so you could autopilot and dock and use docking computer at will.

In x3:tc, that btw I think it is a neat idea, when you shift+D you activate the autopilot for the station targetted to dock, but.. if you have docking computer it uses it.

Its not weird some people dont know but I remember I was trying to look for the shortcut to use the docking computer since I installed it and seen none so I tried docking and voilá, found the thing had been merged.
