Repairing Ship in Space without paying massive credits
Ive read a few threads about peeps having to dock to repair heres an easier way eject from youre ship, take youre astronaut man and get within 30 meters and lock and shoot youre ship - you spacesuit has a repair laser built in and will repair hull damage to youre ship. Also good for repairing recovered ships and also the odd ship in those unknown sectors that u get to claim as they are hidden. ( just need long range scanner thing) and fly around till u find little triangle then get within 200m eject and pilot youre little spacesuit man towards ship once wtihin 40 m right click and claim then control i got me a nice little army this way

The repair laser actually goes 2km.
Granted at that range its very hard to hit your target unless its big.
Suit repairing works well on M5 M4 and M3 ships and TS and TP ones to a degree.
Anything bigger takes much longer. I've used it on an M6 before to repair a few % damage.
The repair laser is considered an attack by NPC ships, so if you zap them enough with it, they will go red on you.
As for hidden ships, its worth keeping an eye out for them in normal sectors too, not just Unknown ones.

They are often unique and are not available to capture or buy anywhere in the game either because they are a unique version say a Hauler or Vanguard or they are a Enhanced or Prototype ship. They often have advantages over the regular models so are worth keeping to reverse engineer once you get a Headquarters rather than selling them for a few credits.

The ammount of the repair scales somewhat to ship size. on a fighter it's about 120 repair per full charge, on a ts it's close to that, but on an M6 it's closer to 400. Not sure about the larger ships yet.
