Transport ships going home against orders

Post by Xocyll »

This has been happening at least every 6 hours or so.

Before I got into station building I set traders looping around in one system only using the Teladi autotrader script (2.2b) .

I don't know if this is related to the script or the defaults (since the 'home" thing is default)

The problem is that certain freighters decide to go "home".

The weird part is that none of the freighters HAVE a defined home, but they all seem to head for Kingdom End.

Most of the frighters happily loop around their assigned sectors, but ones stations in Depths of Silence/Dark Waters/Resevoir of Tranquility and Great Reef want to go visiting in Kingdom end.

Just this morning I found my caiman silicon wafer getting ship based in my drone factory in family pride heading through Rolk's Drift, so it's not just sector looping ones or boron ones or boron sectors.

It had a defined home, yet it was heading "home" to kingdom's end.

I'd really like to know if this bug is in the autotrader script or X2 itself (currently playing at patch 1.1, but I played 1.2 for a short while before reinstalling and it happened in 1.2 as well.)

Teladi Trader is now 2.2c (has been for some time). Sounds like the ships are being ordered to sector 0,0 (or is it 1,1) possibly due to some bug in 2.2b.

I use 2.2c and have done for ages and I have never seen what you are reporting. Not sure if I ever used 2.2b.

can't have been that long since I only grabbed 2.2b a few days ago and it was the only version available.

Well, i guess i'll grab the new one and see if that fixes the problem.

Thanks for the feedback.

i'm having a similar problem, but i'm not using the Teladi autotrader script and my ships arn't going directly to Kingom End they are going to their set home and setting their command to none. if i'm not paying attention anymore i sometimes run out of the recourses they were transferring.

here are the scripts i have installed, but i'm not using all of them:
Xai Jumpdrive 2.0
Burnit's Trade MK3
Station Accountant 3.5 (i had 3.0 before, but uninstalled it then installed this new one)
and BuyWareLoop 1.0

i was setting the ships in a buywareloop to only my stations that i own, but i started to think this may ruin the surrounding economy so i switched and set most of them buy ware for best price. the ones that are now set to buy ware for best price are the ones that are randomly going home and setting their command to none. they do this even if the station they are transferring for needs recourses and there are plenty of recourses to be had.

i have not used the Jumpdrive script yet, but it is installed. i used Trade MK3 on 2 ships but they have since been destroyed so i'm assuming that means this script isn't being used now. i use the Station Accountant every hour or so and the only strange thing about it is that it gives me a message about the Jumpdrive software, its more of a thanks for using it but i'm not.

i guess i could try removing all the scripts to see which ones are the ones causing this or it could be just the game. the only time i ever set my ships to a buy ware for best price is when i first installed the game before i ever found the buywareloop script and everything worked fine. i've been using the loop script for awhile now and everything worked fine. the only new scripts are the Jumpdrive, Trade MK3, and the Station Accountant.

if anyone else using these scripts are having the same problem i would like to know.

I've not seen that problem (randomly going home). I did find one ship about 10 sectors away sitting idle but I'm sure that was me inadvertently sending it there...I go into property, select a ship and the display might jump, so I end up ordering ship B not ship A...

I run Teladi 2.2c and Xai trading continually and station accountant (non-looping variety).
