SETA overnight - then unable to build factories :(

Post by OddBall-aka-hippiejon »

I saved before I went to sleep last night, leaving my machine on - in SETA mode. The next day I have 68 million - nice.

However - I am unable to build anything - great.

If I reload the old save I am able to build - excellent.

I have only noticed this after playing on for 7 hours - brilliant.

Back I go (for the third time) to an earlier save because of a bug in the game.

Anyone else get anything like this ?

Leaving the game on SETA for more than an hour; game time, will loose you rank, so leaving it on overnight will do your reputation no good at all.

Well thats just wrong dude. I had a few sector traders in Aldrin - this morning I was up to warrior of terra - every other rep was also increased.

The ONLY thing you may lose would be your fighting rep which is easy to get back up again anyway.

I neglected to say that everything works fine - I've tried it with my own Tl and NPC TL's - its just when they try to drop the station , it shows the ship but when it goes to display the station itself - the game crashes :(

I've seen many posts about this, and the powers that be have always stated that the players race ranks will suffer.

I'm reasonably sure they haven't, because race ranks don't suffer. The only ranks that drop after prolonged periods of no input are trade and combat.

Are! - trade and combat, I knew it wasn't good for something or other.

being without player input for a certain amount of game-time will cause your ranks to begin to fall. obviously on SETA this happens faster. obviously if you're leaving it on SETA, it's because you are trading, so as well as rank being taken away, you've also got rank being added. eventually this reaches an equilibrium where with a certain amount of trading going on, your trade rank won't go up.

Whatever - the actual point to this post was that if I leave the game on SETA overnight then it crashes if I try to drop stations.

Since I can load a previous game and drop stations - it cannot be a problem with my machine. On the save in question I have tried dropping stations in 4 sectors. twice with a NPC TL and twice with my own.

I left the machine on last night - just NOT in SETA - and I was able to drop a station again today. Just I have 19mill as appossed to 68mill after a night on SETA.

The game is incredibly buggy. They always like to quote Stalker as being a major title with a ton of bugs on release. This game tops both Stalker and Reunion put together.

You need to learn to stop worrying and love.. wait for the patch.

LMAO! Your right of course - I just wish they would make a sticky like 'NEXT PATCH FIX LIST'.

I'll stay away from overnight SETA until the next patch :)

I assume you've checked that your drivers, DirectX, codecs, etc. are all in order?

While it seems unlikely that those would be a problem in one case and not the other, it can't hurt to check.
