Must I travel the universe and apologize to every single boron pilot individually before they stop attacking my shit?

I'm friggin' Boron king's knight now, yet still the asshat boron patrols are attacking my ships. But when I apologize to them they stop... must I travel the entire universe apologizing to every patrol in every sector for the race rank to be updated?

The worst part is that this is new... in X2 and X3 they seemed to automatically adjust once you earn a friendly rank with the race, but now for some unknown reason they don't.

I know I can just script them to be friends, but I didn't want to have to modify my game this time, I'm trying to play it without my personal scripts.
