Im at the "Fly to Bright profit" part

What happen, when i first came here i was unable to do the mission. It was to hard to i had to leave and build up some cash and return with a new ship. While i was doing this goners where spamming with this mission all the time ( And thats annoying ).

So now i got my Centur and i want to return to the mission given to me. And this is what meets me:

Im guessing this is due the spamming of the mission, so when i fail at it. The old ships remain in that system, and then about 5min goes by and it gives me the mission again and spawns new ships without destroying the old.


Hopefully someone knows either a way to make the mission stop spawning new ships. Or clear out the old once

no idea if that one is a mission fault, or just AI gone Mad, went off for an hour or two just sitting there in space at 10x speed when i got back i found hundreds and hundreds of ships all jamming up the system, at least 15-20 traders and there arms of escorts 50-60 odd ships.

in this case all friendly.

I just wrote about this in a post yesturday. I was at the same point. This morning I bought a bigger ship. When I returned I had the same thing. Its not only there but in the 2 other sectors, Company Strenght and Tears of Greed its the same thing. Plus that I have over 700 messages warning me about the missions in the 3 sectors. Each time we get the mission another group of pirates are added to the mix.
The game has become unplayable If I didn't have the mission warnings poping up every couple of minutes I could go on Guess I will have to restart after a new patch probably will take a couple patches till enough people get stuck and complain about this one. :cry:

The work-around is to complete the missions as they're given (and not trigger them before you can handle it, obviously).

That dose'nt make any sense. I f you have a mission to protect a ship how do you know till you get there if you can handle the mission or not. Especially when the missions are labeled wrong. These missions are labeled as "no limit" yet they time out in about 10 minutes.

That's odd, Most of the Syndicate corvettes jump out when they destroy hte target in my experience

Robbyroy: you ran SETA overnight while this was going on...??!?! :o

Reload to beforehand, install the cheat scripts, and finish the missions that way.

Problem is in gonner missions their target is not destroyed. The target space station is not attacked until i jump in.
But judging from the replyes it seems my only option is to start a new game ???

Assuming im not the only one with this problem ( at least a few others have posted it seems in this thread). Would it be possible for someone that knows the X scripting language to write a cheat script that clears those sectors for ships?

I have run into the exact same problem. These missions are impossible for me, with the exception of the 2 "save the ore mines" I got. I'm in my cutlass, but by the time I get close to the ships I'm supposed to protect, they die. I can't get in a smaller ship with all the m6's about, but I'm too slow to intervene in any ship that can take 12 or so fighters. I've made a stand in Company Strength hoping more save the ore mine missions come along, but I can't seem to get anymore. All the other sectors this mission takes place in are pirate infested. I've found that the m6's jump out when the target dies, but they seem to reappear sometimes as well.

I don't have any save games far enough back to get out of the quest message spam, I don't feel like I should cheat to get by on these missions. What have others done to save the ships in time?

Ummm... Cheat. :shock:

It's nigh-impossible at higher fightranks (you'd need a blazing fast fighter to stop the m5s from killing the target, and bring along sufficient other ships to kill the heavier stuff. Rapier might work.)

You can just make the target ship invulnerable. That way you still have to kill all the crap, which is quite a bit less cheat-ey. That's what I did.

I've just ran into the same problem, cleared out the first 5 or so missions but could no way get to the goner to save him beforehand. Some ships jumped when he died but 10 or so remain.
I've saved the ship twice and a station once but still getting spammed with these missions. Ignored a few of them now but judged by the original post I shouldn't ignore them for too long!
hhmm, may have to cheat to progress...

cheated my way through this one as well, but now the game is freezing on my save after it...only thing changes was i removed the cheat script but i dont know...

oh well looks like im doing the next mission all over again...

the follow the ship flying 60 speed through 4 pirate infested sectors one, excuse me as i hold back the excitement.
also the big ships jump out when you are in sector and dont seem to when you arent. of course that wont help with the 50 m3's that will pile up.

This issue is a real game-stopper for me, I'm not going to

a) keep on blasting 20+ pirates per sector non-stop forever
b) ignore the messages and get 200+ waiting in those sectors!

Has anyone done this mission? If so how?? Like I said I've managed to save 2xships and 1x station after several attemps and still no stopping of the messages :(

iirc, there's a thread in the spoilers forum that mentions how many you need to succeed at.

EDIT; thread (although you've already saved 3, so maybe it needs to be specific ones. I may dig around in the MD files and see if I can find out).

Cheers Carlo, I've had a read through that thread and feel much better at a shared pain of this mission! (and possible solution of saving/reloading to only do protect station missions) :)

I used Cycrows Cheat to clear the sector of all ships. When the mission respawned I still could not complete it with my Eclipse. I decided to restart with out the story line. I did the same thing with X3 Reunion till about the the 4th update.
