Hostile stations

Post by Borse »

While doing protection missions for a station I have accidentally fired upon them a few times. This means that they say they are sending fighters after you (which they don't since you're in the mission) and become red.

How do I get them back to blue?

I tried exiting and re-entering the system. Did not work. Tried shooting the station again and get another fighter at me and told him it was a mistake. Still red.

Re-entered system once more, Still red.
Now this has happened a few times, and a lot of stations are becoming useless to me. How can I fix this?

Another thing I find insanely annoying is that this is not due to me being a crappy shot, but due to the turrets I have on the ship keep shooting the station.

The turrets are set to Missile defense, which would imply that they shoot missiles and nothing else, no?
Anyway, they still engage everything within their line of fire regardless of what I tell them.

This in itself isn't the problem, but the fact that when I duck behind the station for some cover and recharge, the god damn turrets keep on firing at my target. And when that target happens to be on the other side of the stations the turrets fire right at it.

Is there a way to fix this as well? I just want them to shoot the missiles :(

Well you probably didn't have a fully equipped destroyer with PPCs like me.... I accidently took out the shields of the station before I managed to get away =P

I'm stuck with a station like that too .. durring a protect mission I accidently turned the back end of my cerberus inside one of its struts and despite this accident nearly destroying my ship they still think i'm the worst person ever even when i'm still defending their station against 5 or so M6's... >.>

LOL!

They shouldn't hate us this much for nothing. I mean.. Almost destroying their stations or kamikazing your ship into them still counts as accidents. Even if you probably killed half the population on that station.

Actually my 3GJ vs the stations 20GJ promptly took me down to 2% in about 5 seconds before I could 'de-attach' from the station. He wasn't even below 3/4 shielding. lol

Allright. I can't take it any more. Someone. Please. If you know how to get these stations blue again, let me know.

And for the love of god! Fix those god damn turrets! I mean, for **** sake! Do I have to un-equip all my turrets every time I fight near friendlies because they consequently fire upon my allies every single time?

I can deal with game breaking bugs, game crashes, Holes the size of Texas in storylines and questlines, but this!?
Turrets refusing to follow my orders and just fires at will at anything that comes within turret range?

No way.

A few options:
1. Use Cycrow's cheat script to fix the stations.
2. Reload a previous save.

Those are both quick and easy, I don't know of any other options though there may be some.

To prevent this in the future, don't fly near stations when you're in combat with a ship with lots of turrets, that's just asking for trouble. You might also try loading different guns on the turrets, something that has shorter range and/or a faster projectile speed. I have no trouble with my Centaur's turrets near stations with Phased Repeater Guns set to Protect Ship.

For now I have Removed all of my turrets from the ship. This is pretty bad, if not a complete disaster.

Will have to see what I can do when I go to bigger ships with more turrets.

Anyway, thanks for the reply. Could you provide link to where I can get this script?
And while it may be a dumb question, just to be safe, does it work with TC?

you do know that you can call a pirate base (within 4 sectors I think) and just pay them to make the station turn back to blue? It comes under a lighbulb 'think' mission. ;)

yeah it comes in handy, especially when you're doing a defending station mission and your turrets are a little too trigger happy, spraying everying around including the station!
