Hey there, i've noticed consistently that the Autopilot for both my ship and other ships is really whack. I as my ship to fly to a sector, and it'll sometimes go up to the appropriate gate, then turn around completely and fly off back towards the other side of the sector. Other times it'll act like it's avoiding something that isn't there (like how capital ships used to give a massive birth to asteroids in X3R). Other times it'll just fly around in random directions and go nowhere near the right gate. And a minute ago my ship tried to enter a gate from the side and almost flew my into one of the pylons, i had to intervene and correct the course.
This happens with AI ships as well. Earlier i was doing an escort mission for three freighters, they ambled across the sector while i was bombarded by countless waves of Yaki ships that were four times faster than mine, intent on destroying the transports. I managed to hold them off until the freighters reached the gate, where they proceeded to fly around in circles for a bit, which caused even more waves to attack. Then, after two freighters were destroyed, the third decided to turn away from the gate, and head back towards the centre of the sector, so even more enemies attacked, until eventually the last transport was destroyed.
There appear to be some serious pathfinding issues, has any one else encountered this? I'd find it odd if i am the only one experiencing this.
Autopilot is proper messed up

Auto pilot has killed me a few times sometimes it flys straight into a roid and sometiimes docking at a solar power plant instead of flying around to the docking side it flys into the oposite side. Un docking from a trade station it crashed me into the rotating structure on the trade station. I was in one sector and all the NPC ships were in a big swarm not moving and i could here buming nito stuff sounds coming from them. Compared to X3 reunion the Ai and auto pilot is a total mess.

I'm sure it won't be that hard to fix, hopefully in the next patch perhaps. I wonder if the devs even pay attention to this forum.
X3R seemed so polished and solidly made, even in the very early versions. I wonder if they kind of rushed TC to get it released. I'm guessing Egosoft will follow suit and release numerous helpful patches anyway.
EDIT
Man, this is getting frustrating. I just spent forever trying to get a convoy from one sector to another. After the three freighters tried for ages to get through a gate, one eventually crashed into it. They approach the gate alright, then at the last minute turn away from the event horizon.
Then, i remembered that OOS ships don't have collision detection, so i killed off the remaining Xenon and went out of the sector, and waited. Sure enough, they flew through, but then when they approached their destination station, they just dithered around there too, and refused to dock. It is stupid when you have two freighters flying around in circles with about 12 Xenon ships all trying to blow them up. Seems pretty overkill to me. It is also annoying how Sheila refuses to pronounce their names properly when you target the Xenon too. Seems to pronounce the X more than she used to, sounds more like 'K'sseeenon'.
I also have a substantial amount of trouble getting my own captured fighters to dock at stations.

last night i purchased a baldric as a sector trader set it to do its business in mars as its free from nasties, and it keeps on dieing as it crashs into stations, also i have the same problems with the AI on auto pilot not being able to fly around objects such as stations or even able to find there path to dock at them.
Still loving the game though.

We all experience this! Its the most anoying thing in the hole game and i think that this issue should be massively improved! I had some incidents myself. Once i was in my Mamba(just found it - abandoned) and i was trying to get to a shipyard so i was flying through sectors along with my Demeter(wich had more speed than my mamba). So the demeter was folowing me(in circles) and suddenly in crashed into my right side like an idiot! And many more anoying things like discoverers blown up in asteriods, TS's fly in circles at the gates, ships take forever to dock, ships flying in formation with you cannot go in straight line even for one second they circle around you like a bunch of idiots and often crash into you destroying you or him.
