During my play in X3:Reunion, I used a PlayStation 2 controller plugged into a USB adaptor. Accelerate was bound to L1 and Decelerate to L2. Worked perfectly.
Now in X3:TC, I've slapped in my PS3 controller and am using a driver to make it compatible as a USB gamepad. Works like a breeze everywhere else. I bound the keys again and now, whenever I try to accelerate (ie. hold down L1) the Left Analog Stick becomes nullified (ie. Can't steer). The same occurs when I hold down R1, no matter what function it's bound to. It makes combat... clunky >_< to say the least.
Chances are it's just an incompatibility problem, but is there anyone else out there who uses a PS3 controller (or any gamepad for that matter) and experiences this problem?
[Summary: Holding down either L1 or R1 causes the left stick to become useless. No other button has the same problem. Defined as Gamepad buttons 11 and 12]
In the meantime, i've rebound Accel to R2 and Decel to L2. I've worked myself into such a habit when playing Reunion that I find myself fumbling around like a fool during combat with this adjustment.
Driver is called: 11679_Sixaxis_PS3_Win32_Driver_For_PC
I'll post my DxDiag if needed.
Thanks in advance!
Already decided the game is awesome. Thanks Egosoft.

Re: Gamepad bug (PS3)
My gamepad is developed by a domestic 3rd party vendor which is PS3 compatible and works without any problems so far. My version is X3:TC v1.2.1. A combination of the button and Left Rocker Arm works as we expect. A related part of my configuration is shown below:Pulse wrote:[Summary: Holding down either L1 or R1 causes the left stick to become useless. No other button has the same problem. Game - Flight Controls:
Accellerate: Joystick Button #7
Decelerate: Joystick Button #5
Controls - Cockpit Controls:
Joystick 1 X-axis: Ship Yaw
Joystick 1 Y-axis: Ship Pitch
Joystick 2 X-axis: Ship Roll
Joystick 2 Y-axis: None
I guess L1 or L2 is the same as Joystick Button #7, #5 respectively according to the bottom right table below:

Hope this helps.
