Please excuse me if this is not the proper forum for this request.
I am in the market for a new PC now that X3TC has been released. I would like to connect the PC to my home theater system. Has anyone played TC on a 1920 X 1080 television? If so, any advice regarding a system (and/or graphics card) that supports 1920 X 1080 and includes an HDMI output?
Thanks,
Brody

Re: Question about a new gaming rig for TC
Both X3:R and X3:TC work great on my 1080P 42 inch LCD TV via both VGA and DVI at 1920x1080 resolution.Brody wrote:Please excuse me if this is not the proper forum for this request.

Really? Must be my imagination that I was running it on my 2.4GHz machine with an oldish 512Mb graphics card, then...could have sworn I was playing it for several hours last night!Mad Ashy wrote:At the moment it needs a 40Ghz CPU and a 5Gb graphics card to run so best to find out after a patch that fixes the performance.

Here's my current rig:Mad Ashy wrote:At the moment it needs a 40Ghz CPU and a 5Gb graphics card to run so best to find out after a patch that fixes the performance.
Asus A8R32-MVP Deluxe (ATI RD580 & ULi 1575)
AMD Athlon64 FX-60 (2.81 GHz) w/ Zalman CNPS9500A LED
OCZ EL-DDR 3200 Platinum 2GB RAM (2.3GB/sec)
Diamond ATI Radeon HD 3870 512MB PCI-E
Hanns-G HG191D 19" Widescreen LCD (2ms refresh, 1440x900)
Windows XP Professional SP3 (locked down)
As far as framerates go, I get low 20's in the busiest of busy sectors, upper 20's in average sectors, and I peg the monitor sync everywhere else. Yeah, X3TC requires some horsepower but even my old hardware *can* run it in a playable fashion.
Of course, mainly just mine, trade, and explore space so I'm not going to know what happens to my framerates when there's a large-scale battle happening in a sector.

My specs are:
Q6600 at 2,4Ghz
4Gb RAM 800FSB
P5N-E-SLI
9800GTX (overclocked but i underclocked to standard timings just for this)
Monitor Samsung 2493SM
At 1900x1200
I get regular framerates of 50 (FRAPS), at mid sized battles (5-10 corvettes i get around 35-37
Capital ship battles of 6-7 i go to 35 average, anything more it goes a slide show, with OC i rarely get any slowdown due to GPU issues.
