Post ranking system, what do you think?

It's useful, I think it should stay.

Post ranking gubbins. Love or hate?

Post by ElectricMonk »

Hey there folks.

Just a quick poll to see if we would like to continue using the post ranking system. The Germans have had a discussion over this and I'd like to see how many of us in the English forums would like to see this option stay or go.

I would, however, like to say that this isn't a crusade to be rid of them, just a quick 'stat shot' to see how many of us like or dislike this option. Whether or not the mods decide to take note of this is entirely up to them as they run this place, and we're here at their sufferance.

I do realise that I may be starting a flame war by creating this thread, but this is not what I intended. Please be gentle! :)

How long you are a n00b: There is no time limit. We have several members who are still newbies, but have several thousand posts. You get "judged" by everone else on the quality of your posts.
I got the above from another forum.

So does this mean i can call nearly everyone a noobie?

Only those that post crap :)

The problem is that most people are too polite to rate such posts as bad.

Depends on what you define as crap, I suppose, so let's see what the dictionary says :)

Main Entry: crap
Function: noun
Etymology: Middle English crappe chaff, residue from rendered fat, perhaps from Old French crappe chaff, residue, from Medieval Latin crappa
Date: circa 1897

Hmm, this thread's going a bit rendered fat residuey, better just let people vote instead :)

well, I'm not fussed. I think they should activate avatars, m'self.

The one thing that I don't like about ratings is that I seem to be the only oldbie or semi oldbie without a star!

Then again, I've only posted crap since we moved here so it's understandable.
