There are two "Export" buttons in DBOX window. If I click one, the software show me a File Selection box. I write the filename and I click "Save", but the file isn't saved.

If I click the other button, I have an error message "Compatibility is set to X2. This function is not available!"
:?

However, I try to send a PM to doubleshadow.

Bye bye!

So your trying to use the other option which only works for exporting to X3 I would think?

It would be better if you had 3dsmax5 since the official ego exporter is very simple to use, it exports as a bod file, a scene file or a combined bod/scene file which is a scene file but the bod parts are contained within that scene and don't exist as seperate parts in the game only within that scene. Thats why part names are so long in a combined scene file like those cinematic sequences throughout x2 those are combined scenes.

You are mixing several things.

The Compatibility is set to X2. This function is not available error occurs when you try to export a Component. There are no components (no types\Components file) in X2 so you cannot export them.

Now the second problem. Gmax cannot write to files. I explained this several times. Read the manual which comes with DBOX.

Normally DBOX will export the file (scene) to MaxScript Listener window (accessible via main menu in gmax), but you have DBOX set to use a grabber - either YAGG or NWsnoop. In this case the grabber must be running in order for DBOX to be able to save files.

You can download YAGG from my site.
