How to Save Maps?

Post by rabid-badger »

Hello

I've been tinkering about with it for the first time. Got the hang of it pretty quick. create debris, stations, suns etc....

My only noob question is how do I actually start playing in it... I can't see any save map option. I can export it... but then I don't know how to actually start playing it

Thanks for your time.

My first advice is:
Be patient. X2 forums are not very frequented any more. That's why it sometimes takes some time 'til you get an answer.

Saving a map is done by exporting the map. This will give a xml-file in the folder maps with the name displayed in the first line of the menu. Never choose 'x2_universe' as the name of the map. This is the standard map and I guess the game will never choose a map with this name from the map folder.

To play your map you need to do the following: start your X2. In the main menu you need to choose "Start", then "Mod-Universe" and then the map you exported. That's it.
