I've been playing X-BTF before I start X-T just so I can experience the story. I've been getting strange behavior lately, though. I play the latest version of X-BTF in Windows 98, but it either locks up on me (only in flight) or throws me back to the desktop (only in flight).
Anyone know what my problem could be?
X-BTF Lock-Ups, etc...

Possibly a corrupted install or save game. Does this happen when sound or speech is supposed to happen? There should be some answers in the FAQs on top of this forum if this is the case or also in the "help" or "support" section of EGOSOFTs web site. The first thing I would try is to try any old save games, if they cause the same problems, shift them to a safe place to reload them later into the game and reinstall XBtF.

Hmmm... This sounds very familiar...
You might want to try not only reload the game, but also check and make sure that you're running at least DX8.1... Not too sure about DX 8.2 .
I know that I was having a real problem trying to play XT when I forgot to reload DX 8.1 when I first got the new PC up and running...speack wouldn't play right and the music was really bloody ragged...
Realized that I was running DX6 or something and loaded in DX8.1 and everything was fine after that.
Of course... you probably already tried and checked this though...right?
