All fighters in X-t have a different firing pattern,ie no problems with the Prommie its weapons are close together and you normaly hit what you are shooting ,but the Mamba you have to attack at a certain angle to hit the target with both lasers other wise you hit with one and miss with the other one.So to the point,every one has a different preffered range at which to open fire ie 250mtr ,200 mtrs or what ever,in X2 if possible would it not be a good idea if you could syncronise both lasers to meet at the range you want so both weapon hit the target :?: Dennis could you please rate this post ta

But laser convergence (present in many older space sims already) would be a good thing I think...

The problem with the mamba actually shows a bit of a weekness in the game engines underbelly,

because if you were to compare the weapon placement of a mamba against ANY Transport or even M4 fighter, the waepons are easily close enough together to both hit consistently, but the game engine has some messed up notion about scaling when viewed from cockpit and your fighter has a kind of 10x bigger than it should be thing going on. :-(
(fly up to a factory get REAL close from cockpit view, now switch to external and take a look at yourself and the factory,, something just doesn't add up).

my main concern with X2 is that the demo movies are consistantly from a 3rd person dramatic camera angle view, which isnt good really, Quake 1 looks darn impressive from that kinda light, as it doesnt really represent the gaming experience.
soo whats this gota do with fireing paterns, regardless of weapon layout in X2 if the same scaling issue exists (I have NO evidence to suggest it does however) in X2 then it would be little more than a interesting way of lowering players hit acuracey. which is a shame.
