A few ?'s about Galaxy Editor

I have just set up Galaxy Editor in my X2 game and I'm really looking forward to playing in my own universe, but i have some questions.

How do you change the sector background?
It says use 'v', and I tried shift+v, but that just moved the gate around. Is it just 'v', or is it apple v? ( i have an apple)

If I were to make some sectors have the owner race be Khaak, when i play the game in that galaxy, would I be considered hostile by the Khaak in that sector, or would i own the ships. I hope that they'd be hostile!

If I add some ships into my sectors (M1, M2), would I own those ships, or would someone else?

Would I need to get some TS for some stations I set up?
