x2 in the massive war mod...

i have a few q's about how to get started in the massive war mod for x2 v1.4. first, i have been playing x2 for a couple of weeks now and have done everything i wanted in the "vanilla" game-beat the plot, got my own capital ships, destroyed the three eyed freaks who talk to much *#$@....ect. so i installed the massive war mod. problem is i cant decide how to get started-no easy 300,000 cr to be stolen here!

is it better to keep the goner ship and sell your disco to repair it or is it better to sell the goner ship and upgrade your disco? im leaning towards the second so that i can cap ships but with all the big xenon cap ships spawning in im almost afraid to try and cap in my lowly disco. AND i absolutley positively REFUSE to go around pick up packages. so anyone who has played the massive war mod plz give me a few pointers.

um okay. i wasnt sure if the scripts/modding forum was for asking q's about stratigy for a mod or if it was simply for asking how to make/modify/get working/if it exists..ect ect. sorry for posting to the wrong forum

I was lucky whenever I started as the Goner Ship still had 100% hull strength. I began by selling the Goner Ship and buying an Argon Buster L, so that I could defend myself (by then the Xenon had invaded Argon Prime). I then sold the Disco and used it to upgrade the Buster and buy an Argon police licence, after all, there are plenty of targets in this mod. If you use the Buster to destroy and capture ships you will soon work up enough money for whatever you want (fighter wing, cap ships, factories). This was the best way I found to suit my style of play, and there are plenty of missions to help you earn money in this mod. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the advice. any goner ship i get is badly damaged w/no equipment so what i did was sell it and upgrade my lil disco best i could. then i scooped up all the free missles floating around and sold all but the wasps. upgraded my lil disco as best i could again and went south to ore belt. finally found a bayoman out on his own and through sheer luck/persistance got him to surrender with 78% hull. then magicaly a mandaly appears-again alone-and almost kills me. somehow the x2 gods smiled on me and the mandaly surrundered after almost no fight at all WITH weapons. sold the mandaly and the disco and upgraded my bayoman best i could and im in bussiness!!! capturing is harder in the bayoman since i was spoiled before in a nova but still possible. i gathered enough credits to buy a salvage lisence but i cant find the repair drones anywhere..any ideas?
