Impressive Handby. What about making a small 30-45 sec. of animation. For example a fleet with fighter escort approaching to a planets orbit ?

it doesn't blend too well into the rest of space,
the edges of the nebula are very disisive, where they sould as a whole be very gradual.

I'm sure I've offered these before,,
feel free to do with as you please they are all old space backdrops I created, and now no longer have a home

Ah, that problem. Well I can do that sort of thing, but i think it comes down to personal taste, i think the starfields (a.k.a star trek backgrounds) are way too simple.
Yours look great, but i think its not disctinct emough for my likings.
The nebula plug in i have (which i do work on) does have some other forms of nebula, but as i said personal taste does come into it.

Colourful nebulas that look close for some reason i like, even knowing its highly unlikely you will see these in real life.

The imagination does come into it somewhere.

I'm not convinced

seriously I think the edge of the nebula looks very very 2D, it has no depth and looks like a 16bit texture, even if the nebula was inclose it wouldn't have the definate edge it does.

as you say though matter of tase,
but please humour me, render something on another more richer backdrop,, pretty please, go on for me

But with the nebulas, I'd say that starfields are better. 'cos unless the system is inside the nebula, or within a light-year or two, it'd be too far away to see, yes? I've never seen a nebula so I wouldn't know. hahaha
