I'm having problems getting a clone of a ship to work in X2. I've used doubleshadow's editor to copy and paste an existing ship from the Tships.pck file in 04.cat/dat. The new ship (a modified khaak m3) appears in the galaxy editor, but not in the game.
I've also saved the changes direct to the 04.cat/dat file without extracting files... For a test, I've copied and pasted a nova and altered the cargo space.. used the galacy edit to place one in the game, but when I play my custom galaxy it is just not there. On top of this I modified an existing ship (a nova) in the same way without copying and pasting, and the changes are made fine, so I know X2 is using the Tships.pck file from that catalog.
There must be something I am doing wrong. Any suggestions/

when you place it in the galaxy editor.... oh are you using the doubleshadow one or the inbuilt X2 one?
If your using the doubleshadow one, I found that I can't use it, some sort of error and the stuff dousnt come up. But if your using the internal one, makesure you go to debug and say export map
Hope that helps

Whats the ID of your modified KM3?
You will probably have to use a tool called "ObjPatch" or "patch14" (there is a 1.5 Version out there, don't use it, use 1.4

I called the modified ship a couple of things (created a couple). I've tried SS_SH_E_M1 (apparently this should work), SS_SH_MYKM3 and MY_K_M3. I've also created a shipyard which sells the ship, though when trying to buy one, nothing appears (says ship bought, but then there is no ship).
So i tried the builtin galaxy editor... no luck. I couldn't see the ship to add. Could this be because I've left the description the same (4031)? Do I need to make a new one for the modified ship?
Actually I just tried that, created a new description, still couldn't see the ship in the built in galaxy editor...
Any other suggestions?

khaaka ships
You know that ship is a special ship since it is called on everytime a thinker ship or khaaka cluster is broken while the player is in sector. If that ship is messed with it might mess up the game. Also for some reason any custom ships will exit a default station dock upside down I have no idea why and that could also be contributing to your problem but thats just a guess.
Some simple questions for you...
Are you using bob format for the scene file
Are you using custom part numbers or trying to use the default numbers
If using the default numbers are you using bob format for those parts
