Ahhh, now that's it. Race Wars.
THAT's the one I'm running. Not Station Wars.
Now, there's a script contained within it called "ai.war.set.sector.relations". What that does is sets ALL Ships, Stations and even docked ships of a particular race(the defender) to recognise visitors(of a particular race) to "Friend", "Neutral" or "Foe". A handy script to run at any time, becaus eyou can initate OR end a conflict in a given sector.
Now, I've written a script to complement it. IF some kind person around here can explain to me how to UPLOAD(I tried before, but couldn't find an Upload button anywhere on the "Post a new topic" page), I'll share what I wrote.
What MY script does is execute "ai.war.set.sector.relations" TWICE, having first asked you for three inputs - Race1, Race2 and Relation. It then sets the Relationship between the two races in ALL sectors owned by Race1, but NOT Race2(you have to run it a second time and invert the Race inputs if you want it both ways).
To elaborate:
I wanted the Argon and Paranid to fight each other, so, I run the script, choose "Argon" for the first input, "Paranid" the second, and "Foe" third. From this point on, ALL Paranid ships entering Argon space will be fired upon by Argon Ships(and refused docking at their stations)...
BUT, in Neutral space(ie. sectors owned by other races), the relationship remains as it was before.
I set it THAT way, so that the races modified by the script would repect the sovereignty/neutrality of other people's sectors. That way, in, say, Teladi sectors, Paranid trading ships won't get constantly set upon by their Argon adversaries... and thus trade can still take place unhindered. Only on their own turf will the Argon ships view Paranids as hostile.
Of course, to return the favour, I ran the script again, inputing "Paranid", "Argon", "Foe", so that Argon ships entering Paranid space would be attacked in return.
It basically means you can set up a global war between two races, unlike Race Wars which creates a series of limited conflicts confined to one sector.
And of course, at any time you should wish the war to be ended, you just run the script again and input "Neutral" or "Friend" for the third input.
It's quite a neat, user friendly script, though I do say so myself.

Of course, as I say, it requires m"Race Wars" from X-Source as a pre-requisite.
I MAY at some point write a version that doesn't.
BUT, I dunno how to upload it. If anyone here can help, I'll do it.
As for Race Response, now I have that, but I'm not sure it's working. Through a combination of "AAA.Shipmaker"(can't remember who or where for that one), and "ai.war.set.sector.relations", I've forced more than one mega-rumpus(much to the chagrin of my poor graphics card), but never seen the AI reinforce beyond the Races' own borders.
Perhaps the Response Script isn't running?
