HELP W/ 1.4 Upgrade, Please !!!!!! Tried 9 times/////

New Hard Drive, Will upgrade to 1.2, Mine is U.S. Copy 1.0 = defraged, re-booted, copied files for 1.4 and locks up PC. reloaded 1.2 upgrade and the title screen shows 1.4, but any of the trade Mk3 shows as text 44134 #'s and they are not there I have played this game for years and really enjoy the whole thing and still have not used all the different things in the universe like mining, war, or all the other stuff. If there is anyone there You folks have helped me in the past and if there was something that I could do for you or any of the other people that use this great site I would, but I don't know nothing compared to you all. Please help a follow gamer

Thanks Moggy, Yes still the same lock up. I've loaded the 1.2 upgraded played it some and saved game then defrag and rebooted and went back in and down loaded 1.4 still lock up then install 1.2 over 1.4 to see what? and it plays the screen shows 1.4 at star-load-etc. just tried down loading two times an the trading mk3 is at HQ but my ships still will not use their jump drives. the text messages are at the bottom of the trade with station list , man this is killing me. I erased whole game and started again and still no 1.4---- You are the man thanks for any advice should I go into the files and see something

another question if you could I can't get on the Xai site forgot everything and can't talk to the admin. because it says my e-mail address is used by someone else??? Sorry didn't mean to get off topic . I made a very small script to give money with editor thats how I could start all over, but still think i need 1.4 to use my jump drive eqipped ships ?

for your problem on Xai Corp. Just request a new password you can just enter your email address and it should send you an email that will tell you what your username was.

the patch problem should probably be addressed in the tech support.

I believe you have to download the patch for your country. I had the same problem, the directory was wrong etc, then I realized I bought the game from England, so I have the Europe version, which has a different directory. Try to find out which game you have, and then download the correct patch.

That sounds like the problem to me.

Completely uninstall the game, reinstall and apply the correct update. You don't have a registered game so unfortunately I can't point you in the direction of which download to use.
