Patrol Mods/Scripts (Resolved)

Post by loki_666 »

Ive downloaded the bonus pack for X2 and i can now setup patrols which is great. However, im wondering if there is a script that does the following.

What id like is a single M1/M2 patroling with about 20 M3/M4/M5 on board. When an enemy is detected id like it to start launching its fighters immediatly as opposed to waiting until it is actually in combat with the enemy. Those fighters can take some time to deploy (yes i know i could use the quick fighter launch thing in the bonus pack). If the carrier is at least two minutes flight time away from the detected enemy it can easlily have all its fighters deployed. After combat the fighters re-dock with the carrier before i continues on with its patrol (i dont think it would be a good idea if they try and dock while its moving.....

RESOLVED: Got it. Some patrol and wingman scripts:
Fight Command Software Mk3 Patrol v2.1b.zip
and
Fight Command Software Mk3 Wing v2.1b.zip

These are just what i needed. Assign wingmen to a patrol ship. Once an enemy is deteced it starts launching ships quickly (i think because of the quick launch script from the bonus pack). Once enmies are detroyed they return to the mothership and dock.

Onl problem is there seems to be a conflict (wareitem) as the Fight Command Software Mk3 does not appear, but if i buy one of the components of the jumpdrive pack this installs the commands... so it looks like i have a conflict that i need to resolve.

Out of Sector (OOS) the carrier should lauch much faster than in sector. Average Carrier is faster than average M3. Thus, the Carrier will be there before its fighters.

Boron Ray (M2) with two IonD and one APPC on each turret is the cheapest "heavy" patrol ship. Same OOS firepower as with full GPPC layout. Do you think it is insufficient alone? Just stay OOS from it. M3's will end up dead in OOS combat sooner or later. M4/M5 even faster.

Afraid i will be in-sector a lot of the time for some of it, because the patrol(s) will be in my home sector(s).

I approach it this way. There are sectors with my factories, and there are sectors where I hunt. Heavy building drops the frame rate. Assassination escorts may attack my property. Therefore, separation is good.

Building:
Fleet of Mammoths moves into position. I enter the sector. All factories are build. I leave sector. Setup and management from OOS while hunting. Mammoths move to the next sector to be built.
