You don't destroy it, not directly. Just do what your supposed to on the mission. It'll happen.

Instead of looking for a mod or cheat to solve your problems, try strategy. In the forums is a tone of info on how to beat the plot. I suggest you search a little.

I used a sneaky method to beat it myself.

I was flying an Osprey, with a Harrier docked to it. Used the Osprey untill I needed to 'dock' with the M0, then use the Harrier because of better maneuverability. Then back to the 'Spray for some final shooting, then back to the Harrier for completing the mission.

That method is a bit complicated, but it worked.

Nothing sneaky about that. I did the same thing, only I used a Dragon. *Speed and firepower.*

And I dropped into a Peggy for that part.

try x2 editor

Post by Martin Logan »

try the x2editor by double shadow it alows you to set hull shields and much more that should help make such a mod simply copy a cat file mod it place it into mod dir of x3 and use it and voila of course modding each ship and station will take time and will aslo affect every other ship in the uuniverse and not just yours

Unfortunatly, X3 files don't work with X2, which is what this thread is about.

The biggest challenge is getting into actual position without hiting anything, or getting blasted by those beams. :)

sorry

Post by Martin Logan »

im sorry i meant x2 directory you should use x2 editor by doubleshadow and then edit the cat files to add hull and/or shields to anything ship or station you want and you can make the mod anyway you like do keep in mind that any other ship and/or station in the universe will also have this (gift) mod i geuss making one or two custom invincible ships is the most fun so you might want to try using this editor to make a duplicate of the khaak destroyer and give it more speed and shields than the original one then you will also have a nice invinceble mod.

just a side note if you use x3 editor the proces will be just the same of course then you will have to edit a cat file beloning to x3 and not x2 the rest is really just the same

X2 Editor is specific for X2. X3 files are slightly different, so you dont want to use the X3 Editor.

Also, any changes you make won't affect objects that already exhist. Only new items.

TLaser.txt can adjust the RoF for the lasers, TBullets for bullet speed, damage, effects used.

In order to use X2E to change a ships shields, you'd have to go into the TShips file, find the ship in question, go into the Weapons tab, and change how many (or what) shields it can use.

This won't change any ships CURRENTLY in the game (unless you start a new game), so your current ships won't be upgradable.

If you can get some one to write you a script, I do believe you can 'Instal' items to the ship that the ship wouldn't normally be able to carry. I know in X3, there's a SuperTune cheat that adds tunings, and some mods can add shields to stations. But X2 may/may not support it.

a T file stands for Types. the T files are in the Types folder. Their the config files for alot of the things the game engine uses (except some are hardcoded, so you have to be careful altering the T files).

Sorry, forget not everybody know's about these things.

Oh bugger, forgot about that. Ok then, with X2editor, open the latest numbered catalog (03/04) in the main X2 directory. the types files will be (SHOULD be) in there.

With X2 Mod Manager, you can actually extract the file, modify it with X2 Editor, then make a new patch file (1 number higher than any in the main directory) and drag the file to the Mod Manager window (select no path, and always compress), then save. It'll override the previous Tships file.

It will only affect 'new' ships created after that file is altered, not any exhisting ones.

Now if your running a MOD, and it alters Tships, you'll have to edit the file in the mod catalog, and save it back there.

Mod's override Patch files.
