Current site feature list:
- Scripting handbook (wiki style)

Weblinks
This was originally released several years ago as a wiki. It's changed forms a couple of times since then, and with then new software it can be edited by anyone, but the CammelCase freelinking has gone. It currently contains complete lists of the commands in the script editor for the latest versions of X2 and X3 as well as details about various aspects of the x-universe engine.
Script Hosting
At long last we can now offer script hosting via the same project system that Xai Corporation scripts have been using for the last couple of years. Registered users will be able to post their scripts as "projects" to the site. The project module allows you to upload different versions to the same project, and has a built in bug tracking system.
Script Database
A new implementation of the exisiting script database, which simply contains links to locations for downloads. As a scripter it's often inconvenient to have to go round several websites updating them all each time you update a script. For this reason the database only uses links to other sites, so you can list your script in the database and have it point to your own website or a thread on Egosoft's forum. Updates are then easier since you only have the one site to update, not two.
Used Resources lists
This is linked to the script database. When a script is listed in the database there is the option to 'link' the script to one or more textfiles, textpages, command slots or upgrade wares. These links are used to generate various tables listing which scripts use which resources. The aim of this is to help people avoid clashing with other scripts.
* It is hoped that with sufficiant use of the script database and resource lists, the data could be used to update the indexes on the Egosoft forums, simply by cutting and pasting.
Readme Generator
simply fill in the form with the relevent data and it will create a Readme that is published on this site and present you with the text to cut and paste into a text file to include with your script package.
User Blogs
Registered users can create their own X-Universe related blogs. You could use yours as a diary of your exploits in the X-Universe, or you could log the progress of a script or mod you are developing.
News articles
Registered users can submit x-universe news to be displayed on the front page of the site. The news could be releated to their scripting or modding project, promote a new website, or news of happenings at Egosoft. If you want to write longer articles on anything to do with the x-universe, or review a script, we'll take those to.
The Xai Corporation website is one of the few X-universe sites that supports RSS/XML feeds throughout the site, allowing news and articles posted here to reach a wider audiance.
Image Galleries
upload you favourite screen shots from any of the X games and possibly see them on the front page of the Xai Corporation site.
Screenshots from any of the X games can be uploaded. They need to be in jpeg or png format first. You can use irfanview for converting the screenshots to jpeg first.
Weblinks
Looking for an X-Universe site but can't remember the address. Have a look in our weblinks section, maybe we've got a link to it.
Got a X-Universe website of your own you want to promote? Submit the link to your site to be included in the weblinks directory.
Xai Corporation needs you
So what do we need from you? Content! To make the site work it needs people to post content to it:
- If you regularly use scripts in your game, how about telling us how well they work, what's so good about them, what's not so good. Send us a Script Review
- If you've got some tips on how to script, some fantastic insight on how to write better scripts, add it to the scripting handbook.
- Not all the script instructions in the handbook have descriptions. We could do with a few people to look through them and add the descriptions.
- If you've got a script that you host elsewhere, you can add your script to our database, along with details of the resources it uses.
- If you write your own scripts and want to use our bug tracking system, or simply want somewhere to upload your scripts, you can create a new project
- If a group of scripters wish to collaborate on a project and want somewhere away from the main Egosoft forums to comunicate, we can accomodate you on our own forums, maybe even set up your own section.
