Hi all,
Yes, we do intend for this to happen.
It will NOT happen before March 2003.
It WILL be in or around London (venue to be confirmed, but we want press to attend so venue will be decided with press input).
Egosoft WILL attend.
It's a few months away and many things need confirming, but yes, X-Con 2003 is ON!

Excellent. So much good news being released in the past few days - can it get better?

Agreed, Scarecrow. We are poor, forgotten, wretched children of X. It blows my mind that Egosoft has ignored such a huge potential customer base in the US for so long, now. Considering there are probably more computers in households here in the US than the rest of the world combined. What a waste.
The new PC I just built for myself:
i5-13600k, 32GB DDR5 RAM, RTX 3060 12GB
It'll do until I can upgrade the graphics card.

Duck, Bel!!
That comment about the number of computers could get you toasted!
Or an unfavorable rating

I read somewhere the highest number of computers per head per person is held by Japan followed by the UK, with USA in Third.
So the US may have the most PC's but its not as much when that number is devided up among its people.

For the US people, I would say - set up a fan base, and organise something yourself. Early success in this would indeed grab Egosoft's attention I am sure and you would go down as a founding member.
Just think, immortalised in X history, a pioneer of the Western games frontier, no further mentions of sheep....

Hmmmm.....set up a fan base!
What would that be?..............12 of us?
I think we would have to make it a N. American fan base to get it that high.
And in
my universe I am already assured a place in history

Well, it would be nice to meet you all.
If you can do it, would be cool!

It's a poor substitute but would it not be possible to set up a video link like they have in business conferences

We talked about this when the first X-con was set up.
Nobody wanted to travel more than to the neighboring state.
If we held it in the geographical center (
Kansas I think
), we would all still miss by 4 states!
And that's even further if we adjust for our Canadian bretheren.

I'm in--I can always stay with relatives in Northampton (60 miles from London) to avoid hotel fares, and I don't drink, so there's no chance of trying to drive up the M1 "the worse for wear"...
