windows XP problem and 9700 pro

I have just upgraded my OS from windows 98 to windows XP. X-tension no longer plays. Any ideas why?

In addition I have down loaded the latest driver from ATI for a 9700 pro card. Under win 98 the F5 key produced some strange effects with any grid shapes. This still is a problem with the ATI 9700 pro card. Has anyone got a idea how to fix either/both problems.

I know this isnt of any use to you but i find that my X workes perfectly on my XP-Pro so i know it aint that.

I am only using a G-force 2 64mg AGP.

Probably the ATI drivers they are known to be very iffy when a new product is released and is the only real complaint there seems to be with ATi products this is what an Ati driver does when you ask it to do something

Did you uncheck the "Use Settings" box in the X-Tension startup screen? The new driver (e.g. XP not 98) is probably different enough that the existing settings won't work.

Thank you for your advice/knowledge. I too have a 2nd machine with a G FORCE 2 at 64 Meg, it runs well. Under windows 98 so I can now rule out the windows XP variable.
