starting out

Post by wilhil »

I am finding it very hard to make money after restarting, i have sold my first ship, bought a m5, and have been just doing little missions to get cash, i have now bought a dolphin, after selling a goner ship! (so easy to catch!!) and i was just selling energy cells, buy at the wall and sell somewhere else making approx 14-16 Cr each, but it is so slow :( i saw you can make about 30cr buying and selling quantum tubes, but as i can only afford to buy 5 at a time, it is not very fast! do any of you know a good place to go where i can make good money quickly

thanks

Daz is the man u wana see about tradeing... i know a little compared to daz.. but hey you allways start smalll and then progress.. u need to get like 10,000 Cr before the money comes rolling in.. If ur a tader i would say get a TL and trade a lot! in diffrent secotrs . if ur a fighter the best profit so im told is by capturing Pirate ships... :) and they become usefull! Very usefull..

I find that the Argon Lifter is a better first transport ship as it is fastest so you don't have to wait around so long to get to places.

I usually work on getting my first lifter up to max speed then max cargo (I don't waste my money on rudders) through trading energy cells and later ore and silicon.

Later I buy more lifters with maxed speed and cargo and use them by remote.

it's usually a good tip to buy stuff that will fill your cargo bay, ie stick with ECs untill you can fill your bay with other things.

dolphin's too slow to be a good transport... it's only good for increasing the cargo bay of a TL... use a mule or a lifter...

also try to capture pirate craft... any... you will make money quicker...

better still do both!

Hi. The best things you can trade in are:

EC's
Ore
Sillicon Wafers
Soja Beens
Sojahusk
Small lasers/shields/missiles
Crystals

Remember, things like Q tubes, although you can sell loads and make great profits, they are in small supply but in great demand. So, you are better off buying other products in bulk cheeper and selling them for great profits. The above you can do this with and make massive profits.

I have just started as well and I bought a Boron dolphin as soon as I could. I always make a lot of profit when I sell 3000 energy cells, wich cost me a total of 18.000 cr (when I buy them at 6 cr each) and sell them for at least 20 cr each. This means that I get 42.000 profit wich each full cargo load I sell.

Them I bought a silicon mine (wich is doing good bussines) and a wheatfarm wich sells Delexain Wheat at 30 cr each (that's above the average amount) making good profit. :D There seems to be a shortage of delexian Wheat in the X-universe, there are a lot of factories that need it and there supply of wheat is almost always near zero.

I am going to set up a chain of Wheat Farms :)

Yes that's an idea. Good observation, because the Weet, is a comodity that is in great demand both in Argon and Boron sectors.

You also could set up Crystal and Quantom Tube Fabs in Argon Sectors as they will make you great returns. But you should also set up support factories for them, so that you can garantee cheep resources and maximum profitss.

I wouldn't have sold the Goner ship - they're fast, respectable cargo space, good shield capacity, and can fire missiles!

A good tactic for early in the game is to pick on pirate transporters - they're slow, easy to dodge their fire, and if you don't capture them, you'll often get to pick up a few hornet missiles, worth over 10,000 credits each when you kill them!
