I know what you mean. When I ask the captain to dock at the shipyard, I have plenty of time to make me a cup of coffee, because they take forever to dock.
When they finaly have your factory onboard it still takes a long time to get to your destination.

As soon as I can afford it, I am getting an Argon Mamoth with a jumpdrive

Why not use the seta when waiting for the TL to dock?

There are TLs which cost a LOT less than a Mammoth, you know. Boron Orca is only just over half the cost, and is faster; Paranid Hercules costs only a third as much, and is just as capable of transporting a factory as a Mammoth is.

I know that... :D :P it's just if I wasted what's left of my money - like 19m on even the cheapest tl, i would only have a little left for a factory... or where I want to put it anyway... and the hired tls cost too much(Im not frugal or aything... it's 3000 everygate   :P

Yeah but only real men drive mammoths. Pansies drive orca's. Why drive a transit van when you can drive a Kenworth Truck.

True the orca may be the fastest, carry most cargo, have its landing bay at the rear but its coolness factor is down there with the geeks and losers.

The Orca might have it's landing bat at the rear, the Mammoith has it on both ends, it has a fly thrue bay, you can land also at the aft side, you'll just have to fly in a bit further.
I dock with my Mammoth at the side which is the closest when I aproach it.

Never will I sell my Mammoth, when I need cash I just go piratehunting end sell their ships. But then I could always sell the Orca I got at the end of the perseus mission first

If it wasn't for the fact I got mine free I probably wouldn't bother with a TL. I did buy one once but the moment I realised you couldn't have energy weapons and only missiles I sold it.

The orca doesn't carry the most cargo. The description lies. The Mammoth is the biggest, and therefore the best. (:

Yes the mamoth can carry 19.500 units of cargo and has a max speed of 243 m/s.
The Orca can carry 15.000 units of cargo and has a max speed of 252 m/s.
The difference in speed is just 9 m/s, but the extra cargo space of the Mamoth (4500) more than makes up for that

It doesn't make any diff what the cargo capacity of any of the TL's have.
As long as you can dock an unlimited number of TS's in them, you also have unlimited cargo space.

The only deciding factors are:
1) Cost
2) Speed
3) Cool factor

I think the Orca wins on all counts! Let's face it, the Mammoth is nothing more than an ugly flying brick...(hides behind sofa anticipating response)

there is nothing you can do with a mammoth that you can't do with a hercules and 2 or 3 maxed dolphins, but it's a great deal cheaper...

Ok I'll have an Orca Mark2 then, as seen in X2 the Threat, just because of the looks of it with it's spinning tail, although the new Mammoth looks awesome too :)

Cheers,
