How do I back-up my save games?

Post by Admiral Tibszy »

Newbie here, so please bear with me... O.K., I was thinking of using some scripts, and I was wondering how I could back-up my saves so that if something goes wrong, I don'thave to reinstall/restart the game.

If anyone could help me, I would be very thankful! :D

hi doing this is fairly easy , simply go in to your x2 directory
defaut path is - c:/program files/egosoft/x2 - the threat
if you autosave when entering a station there will be three files called:
x20
x21
x22
just copy these to another location such as your my documents folder, now you have them backed up !
of course there may be other files that have e.g. x00,x01,x02 etc
these are your manual saves that have been made
you can tell which is which by goin into the games load screen and counting the save slots that are there.
you can bakc these up exactly the same if you wish , then when you wanna play normal x2 just copy them back and overwrite any saves that are in the directory
