Spaceflies?

I was going through making lists of what each races factories need from other races, so I could plan out where to put which type of factory and I noticed something weird. I can't figure out where the product 'spaceflies' come from. A lot of the Split factories seem to require it, but I can't figure out where it is produced. Did I just miss something obvious?

Space Flies are not produced, they are caught in space, hence their rarety. You can get some of them by blowing up a factory that uses them. Some containers left might include Space Flies. Some pirate ships do carry them too, when you shoot them and they drop their cargo, sometimes you find Space Flies among them.

I get mine done by the split... then loads of slaves (mostly boron) swarm over your ship cleaning it... it's a lot cheaper than the teladi way...

That picture is of x2, do they fly around in x-t because i havent seen them

You will not see them fly around in XT - only in X2. As CJ said, you are best served by scanning pirate ships for this type of cargo and then destroying them to pick it up.

do the pirate ships get them from somewere or do they come with them as there made in the pirate base

I think the pirates just 'turn up' with them
