How do I integrate a script or mod into my game. I have been doing this, but it's not working.

Open Mod-> save-> my computer-> c: drive-> program files-> egosoft-> X2- The Threat. Then it's saved in the X2- The Threat game files.

Is this correct as I don't see any of the mods, I'm installing. Please Help
