First of all, greetings to everyone and thanks to Egosoft for this game. Awsome I must say.

Few beefs I have with the game that I think if changed would make this one of my absolute favorite games of the genre and perhaps all time.

1. And this being a big one for me, the camera. Ok everything looks fantastic however, I think the camera on the chase cam is rediculous.
I feel like im flying around space with a supurbly textured 2D model on my face. Basicly if the camera was loos it would feel much more real.

A good example of what I mean would be freelancer where the ship turns and pitches without the camera being stuck to the ass end of the ship. Im pretty sure anyone that has played it knows what I mean. Alow it to follow as opposed to being fixed, It would feel far more real to me and im sure everyone else.

2. Lack of tutorial, Highly likely this is a largely discussed topic however it is in my list. Even a simple one, for example you first enter a station and a tutorial window will pop up telling you functions and keys and how to buy etc. Even this would be a vast improvement.

3. Cockpit view, I noted another thread about this and I agree to bringing a cockpit view back.

Other than these things the game is exelent, Oh I think the speed in which you move is rather slow aswell meaning the standard thrust speeds.. though I think this will prove to be fine after I play for a bit longer as its a very small problem. If it is at all.

Comments? thoughts?

anyways back to the subject

1 i don't use the chase camera so i don't really notice it
however there is the ability to use a POV hat on my joystick that pans the camera arround maby that will help you

2 there is a ingame hint program that tells you much of what a player can do and what certain symbols mean
however when the game first came out there was no way to turn them off and they became very annoying

3 personally i like having no cockpit view and if they do add them back i would like a way to not have them

4 this should be in the regular forum and not here in the creative universe so shame on you :lol: :P

Lol, yes I did, Its 8am and I havent slept yet so I guess I have an excuse.

The camera deal; I dont wish to move the camera around this can already be achieved, What I mean is to loosen the camera off the tail of the ship instead of fixing it solid you will notice this loose camera effect in racing games and like I added above freelancer and many other games.

Being a very good way to give you a feel that the ship is actualy moving instead like I said feeling like your a camera in space with a 2D model on your face or a smudge on the lense if you want.

Perhaps theres a command to unlock the camera or a way to script it. I wouldent mind just a script if that be the case.

Use the arrow keys on the numeric keypad to move the camera around. (8 = up, 2 = down, 4 = left, 6 = right, + = zoom in, - = zoom out.). Moving the camera with these keys helps a lot for figuring out what hardpoint maps to what position on the ship for laying out one's weapons in the most useful way.

i don't really know what a moving camera would reall do for you

it would seem to make it harder to fly actually

also, if you press 0 on the mumeric number pad, it changes some to the views to an unlocked view..

Oh realy? thanks alot i'll give it a go and get back to you if its what im looking for.

(Moving the camera isnt what I mean, Perhaps I didnt explain it well. Anyway brb)

Ok, No that wasnt it. It unlocks it yeah but the camera doesnt move at all.

Heres what I hope to be a better explanation;

Instead of the camera being solid strapt on the tail of the ship. What I would like to see is, the ship turns though the camera doesnt follow the tail as fast as you turn. It follows slowly until it finaly corrects itself to the center of the tail of your ship again.

The camera will however correct itself faster if you are moving forward thrust for a second or two.

Also a smaller crosshair for that view. (The ship faces the crosshair when moved)
