Orb versus Hemegonia

What are your thoughts guys on these games?

Been playing Hemegonia. I think it's pretty good.

Haven't had a chance to play Orb properly yet though..

I got Haeg ( the game not the demo) i think it's visually far superior to ORB

I was looking forward to both games to kill time till march but when i d/loaded ORB demo i was shocked at the graphics considering the game was five or more years in development.

A better comparison for Haeg would be Imperium galactica (3) i think it's called i d/loaded a demo a coupla months ago the ships in the game are more detailed than anything in orb

Far as RTS goes i think it's a tie between Haeg and IG3

I knew you reply thankfully as you are playing these games.

It was quite funny reading the Heg readme file as it mentioned IG3 and in no uncertain terms dissed them

Orb and hege are relatively similar but I dont know much about the gameplay much though in Orb..

Do you carry your units through in hegemonia in the game as in the demo?

played demos of haeg, orb and ig3 ... dont like any of them

oh, they have great grapics ... but they dont let u do anything! haeg and orb are HW clones, and have a strict story line

ig2 might be ok, cause so far ive only tried the demo were its a space battle, apparently its more of a free lance empire builder game like ig and ig2 (i hope)

its online games like Subspace and Tribes2 and PE that i like to play cause they are open ended and nothing is set

used to be a time id snap these games up with relish ... but now that i have broadband and see what The Threat is going to be like, nothing peaks my interest anymore

I picked up Hegemonia the otherday and its pretty, has some nice touches, then ruins it all with CONGRATULATIONS MISSION COMPLETE..

I was really hoping for a Civilization meets Homeworld,, never gona happen.. [sob sob]

Are Orb and IG3 out yet ?

Will be buying that game next pay day anyway. (after GF card and 512 mg ram..)

I've played the demo of both games, both look great but neither have anything special or unique about them. Saying that however i'm a fan of these sorts of games and will probably buy both.
