Disable ship hull display?

I find it quite annoying when the hull of the ship is displayed when in the default 1st-person view..

The mercury freighter and the jaguar raider are the only two I know of right now that do it, but it's very annoying.

Is there some way to disable showing the hull in 1st person ?

You'd need to move the camera position so that the new location couldn't see the hull.
That's fairly complicated I believe (at least I don't know how to do it) but I think it's quite manageable.
