Pimp My Ride (X-Universe) - Rapier's ride

Post by Avis »

Rapier a regular fan of the show, decided he's ride was in desperate need on a pimping, little did we know he's idea of a pimp was a little more than most peoples.

When you think of a blocky space craft you usually don't think LITTERALY made of blocks, and not even lego blocks with subtle featured pieces either we are talking commodore64 step aside there is a new block on the kid!

But thats about to change because I'm Vis to the A 'Avis' and I'm about to pimp his ride.

[Fast Forward all the hysterical nonsence]

Now Rapier when we 1st cast our unfortunate eyes on your 'concept ride' it lacked angles, other than straight rightangles, but the guys at Imperial Customs have gone through 30 monster packs of sandpaper to take those harsh edges off that ride.
You mentioned you'd like wings that rotated around the central cockpit, but lets face it with those 'features' that wasn't going to happen without the wings tearing themselves appart (or at leaste popping appart).

The force told us what you were trying to create but lacking the materials.
Check your new ride!!

The trunk comes with a vacume penetrating sound system so even in the cold silent depths of space you can let your enemies know just how bad your taste in music is.

If you wan't your ride pimping check the requirements in this thread and post there :-)

you people will learn, TAPE does not belong on the outside of a starship, it's just not good folks.

Not to mention the fact that the tape cannot withstand any hits from anything, and friction between the shielding system and the tap could cause premature part dislocation.

In the end, it won't even be the enemies that kill you. Your own ship can do that for you.

I'm not sure how I ever managed before I had this ship to fly. I though all those people were pointing in amazement. Now they will be!

Thank you Emperor Avis.

(For the record, I was thinking of rotation about the vertical axis, but this is much better. I think I can pull of some way better moves in this.)

Your 'Duplo-rip-off' identification skills scare me.

Reminds me both of the Elite/Eel and those star wars racers. Really nice model there. Remind me - are we going to see custom models in X3? I remember there being a hitch with them in X2. I think I remember the problem being that we could only replace models and not add them...

Anyway the gist of it is: Are we likely to see this model, and others to come, fully fleshed out in our X3 games ala Freelancer modding?

EDIT: just read the same Q&A in another pimpin' post. Would be nice if Egodudes get round to it at some point. At the moment I imagine there are other more pressing matters...

these pimped rides are not currently for any X3 mod, rather a fanvid I'm making, though once more info becomes available about modding for X3 I may see what I can do :-)
