Thank you! And does that mean we can actually buy the Nexus Miner somewhere with 1.6.0?Litcube wrote:Mistake, changed for 1.6.0BlackArchon wrote:I have a question for Litcube himself: After carefully examining LU's TShips.txt, I noticed that the Argon Mercury Miner and the Argon Nexus Miner both have the same ship ID (SS_SH_A_TS_MINER). What is the purpose of this? Or is this a minor mistake?

(I hope this isn't too offtopic for this thread)
I'll likely publish episode #9 in about 12 hours. Starting this Saturday however I'm taking a short break from streaming LU, a bit of burn out after having played only X3 since the game got released on GOG back in November. Need a bit of variety to not burn out completely :-/ Hope to be back in a week or two with a cool new intro featuring the OCV
There should be only 2-3 episodes left in the series.

Good I found your channel & subbed. Will follow along and see how I like it. Right away I can say the UI is so much better than Reunion which I was playing for a while recently.memeics wrote:(I hope this isn't too offtopic for this thread)

I would not want to have to deal with the main opponents for quite a while. I would want to be able to take my time to acclimatise and get into the universe and gameplay. My focus would be on building a trading empire, not combat. So do you think LU would suit that style of gameplay; or does it demand a heavy combat style and speedy build-up to war?

This is a fairly common concern raised by many LU noobs so here's my take on it: do not be afraid of the new enemies. They seem unstoppable (especially the OCV) and dangerous but LU gives you all the tools to build a trading and military empire to easily beat them. Having a bit of pressure from their constant threat is healthy. But unless you want to spend 20+ game days before engaging any of these enemies I don't think you have anything to worry about. Sure there will be Phanon traders and hunting parties, so ignore them and jump away/run from them, or, if you have an M6 or better, take them down.
Push come to shove LU gives you in-game options to disable the OCV or Phanon but I seriously doubt you will need to use those options.
So don't worry too much about this, as long as you keep in the back of your head that your objective in the game is to develop an empire and destroy these 2 enemies (so you don't just fly around doing nothing for many game days but instead spend that time expanding your empire, assets, etc) everything will be fine.

Why should anyone buy an OTAS McCallum ED for a fighter/corvette MLCC base?
Compared to the Boron ED, it is inferior: They only differ by their docking capacities and the price. While both of them can dock an unlimited number of small and medium ships, the Boron ED can also dock two capital ships. Looking at the price, the OTAS dock is also worse: it costs 78.9 million, while the Boron ED costs only 48.7 million credits.
So please answer me, am I missing something?

I'm quite in a lategame (LU 1.5.2) now. While I was in Xenon Sector 101 with about 60+ Xenon ships and about 25 of my ships, I was just giving some new build freighters the command to be a DA for my HQ, the game got even more sluggish and suddenly this message pops out about five times:

The ship ID in RefObj changes to the corresponding freighters' ship ID which I gave the DA command, also the number after "Lib.Gen.ColourShipName:290:1:0:".

How many DAs you have? I think someone already reported earlier (and I was able to reproduce) a bug where at a certain number of DAs it simply trips on the "infinite loop detection" check. Does it now happen every time you add one more DA or it was random and stopped happening?BlackArchon wrote:I'm quite in a lategame (LU 1.5.2) now. I asked the very same question about a year ago, still waiting for an answerBlackArchon wrote:Why should anyone buy an OTAS McCallum ED for a fighter/corvette MLCC base?

I have 32 DAs for my HQ and I want to add ten more.memeics wrote:How many DAs you have? I can now reproduce this error, albeit it has now changed a bit:

To reproduce it: Go to the property menu, to my HQ. Enter the Dockware Manager, go to Template outfit. Choose my template for the Caiman Advanced and apply it to all 15 ships. As soon as I order the first ship to be a DA, the error messages appears.
Here is the savegame: http://blubb.najut.org/lu/files/X01.sav
This is LU 1.5.2 with the following scripts:
- Diverse Game Starts LU edition
- the ZIP version of Cycrow's cheat package 1.62
- Smart Turrets 4.7.2
- The Ship Browser 1.2 LU edition
- MK3 reloaded reloaded (LU edition)
- Satellite Monitoring 1.5b
- a slightly modified TShips.txt (all ships have doubled their laser energy recharge rate, and I added the Vidar Sentinel from XRM along with its obj files)
- a modified TBullets.txt for a stronger Repair Laser
- memeics' SIaF r5

It seems that it's the same bug, the other time when it was reported it was also starting to happen when going over 30 DAs or so. Not sure if this is happening in vanilla, as my pack may increase a bit the processing done by a DA and trigger the check. Can you Export your save game and Import it in a vanilla 1.5.2 and then be able to reproduce the bug on vanilla 1.5.2? If yes please provide a savegame based on vanilla 1.5.2. Thanks!BlackArchon wrote:I have 32 DAs for my HQ and I want to add ten more.

I installed the EI package 2.2.5 and exported my game, then reimported it to a fresh LU 1.5.2 install. Here I encountered a problem: I'm at reputation 9 with the Pirates, but after the import, they are hostile to me and attacking my property!
Anyway, that's not what is primarily important. I can still reproduce the problem with the steps mentioned:

It's supposed to start importing, it should print tons of messages about importing various objects. Did you copy that file to game/addon/t or to game/t? The former is the correct location.BlackArchon wrote:I installed the EI package 2.2.5 and exported my game. The resulting file 8382-L044.xml is 31.1 MB. Then I copied it to a fresh LU 1.5.2 install and started a new game as Damyath Import. There I sat in a Discoverer in Argon Prime. No other ships, nothing of my old game. I don't think this is supposed to happen?
Hmm yeah, something is broken, I assume you have disabled all anti-virus software? (including Microsoft Security Essentials, it takes me hours to export/import with that thing enabled) Could be some E/I bug, it was updated recently and I'm thinking the new version may not import well in 1.5.2 (but only in the upcoming 1.6.0 which I've successfully done imports from 1.5.2 exports a few times already), just a hypothesis.
