Ok I've prolly missed the answer somewhere in the forum but i looked diligently and have not found an answer. I am trying to install some ships to my 2.0 game and what i've found is only 1 or 2 of the ships actually show up even when I use the add ships plugin in the ship editor and those have no front guns or Turrets at all :gruebel: .
I did see a reply where you explained that I need to add the scripts but I am uncertain if you mean i have to write them myself or if they happen to be somewhere in the ship pack. So i completely removed all ships from the installer and now my X3 editor tells me it can't find the shipcreator in the mods and gives the path and also asks me if i would like to redirect the x3.exe path as it says it cannot find that as well but it loads just fine nonetheless. The only script I have added to my game is EMP so i can add more wares etc and accommodate other plugins etc but since i just repartitioned my HDD and completely reinsalled Windows i really don't wanna mess up all the work i just put in but i would love to put some of those ships you created into my game :P.

try to redownload the ships, they might have be invalid.

also, try to reinstall them to c if it works.

if you cant get it to work, then email me a copy of the mod files with the ships installed so i can take a look

i have tried this with the xtended mod but it causes some shops to lose their models i redownloaded them reinstalled them even reinstalled the game still no effect.... (currently I'm just running the script in the separate download from xfp mod) and same ships are working fine is it that there is an incompatibility with xtended and this?

My problem with it is when I use the ship installer with XFP v03, my added ships are there but the XFP added systems are gone. And I used the XFP as my base mod and selected shipcreater as the mod to play in. I dunno if this helps narrow it down any or not, but I hope so. Also Great work on all your scripts Cycrow, world-class ^^ And the XFP team did a top notch job, too.

if all the ships are there for both XFP and the ones u've isntalled. it shoulds like ur just missing the map.

This could be 2 reasons, 1, did you restart the game when using XFP ?
and 2, its possible the map file didn't copy when the mods were merged, u could try the Mod Manager to look in the shipcreator mod, and c if the universe map is in there, should be in the maps folder.

Aye, good looking out on the quick reply, but it turns out I'm slightly r*******, I was using your installer v1.71 I'm updating now and I'm gonna try it again.

i am having a similar problem that i can find the shipcreator added ships, but when i spawn a ship from DDRS i get everything on them, but theres no model, also making the shipcreatoer mod takes less than 3 seconds so i am guessing its not making the new mod properly if its supposed to take a while.

i will try again ...


Edit - still goosed, ill just play the game with the normal ships from DDRS for now then

New Update available, 1.88


V1.88
* Disabled Edit Mod
* Added new Base Mod Method
* Straight file copy of base mod when no ships are installed.


This is mainly for those who are having problems with using a base mod.
If you select the base mod when no ships are installed, it will create a direct copy rather than copying each file, which seems to cause problems for some ppl.

the other options is to set it to a fake patch. This will copy the base mod to a fake patch to the main directory and the shipcreator mod will be created with just installed ship files.
If you change to this, make sure you select the option in the update menu, "redo base mod"

all seems to be working fine now, though i have not checked to see if those turrets were just messed up because of imporing them with the last version

if u've used edit mode previously, its likly the turrets will be messed up, there was a problem with it that i havn't found yet, thats y its been disabled in this version.

best to do would be to edit the XSP file directly if you want to make changes then install it

as far as i know yeah they are their. i have picked about ten of them. i havent had chance to travel to every relevent sector yet. although i cant buy any of them yet because i only have about 500k.lol. i have looked up the firelance mod.looks awesome. how long till the X3 version is ready?

fair enough i know how that is. hate the person who invented work. :lol: well i will keep my eye on it.i can wait. may i ask, how did you learn to do all the mods and scripts? i am currently doing a course in video game development.but i am a total novice. any advice. if your busy dont worry

i actually did a degree in games programming.

althou i've been programming for a long time now and i pick up programming languages pretty quickly.

took me about 3 days to learn how to sciript for X3 and finish my first script

I'm really new to X3 modding and ship installing seeing as how I bought the game about a week ago. I was excited to find some BSG ships to play with and installed your Viper MKII ship using the Ship Creator/Installer program.

The ship said it installed correctly and then I launched X3. Unfortunately, I was unable to find the Viper available at the Argon shipyard, and when I tried to use the Ship Creator script to just create it in space, it wasn't there either. So, it seems I'm overlooking something that most people don't.

I just can't seem to figure out how to get my hands on the ship.

Also, I tried selecting "Ship Creator" as my Mod Package when starting X3. When I do that, it causes my game to crash right after the intro. If I don't select the "Ship Creator" the game starts up fine, but I don't get my ship...

you have to select the ShipCreator mod otherwise you wont get the ships, so you problem is that the mod isn't created properly for some reason.

u could try selecitng the "Update Mod" option in the Ship Install and c if that works, and also try to reinstall the ship again and c if that fixes it.

are you using any base mod, or is it set to standard game ?

if those dont fix it, u could send me your mod files, and i will take alook and c what the problem is
