Cycow, I tried again and it still isn't working. I only installed four ships, and I can only find three of them and they are in every shipyard, with the exception of the one ship that was originally listed as Boron only.

Should I just remove it and start over?

which ship is the one thats not showing up ?

have u tryed using the cheat scripts to c if the ship displays on that list ?
also, u could try removing all the ships and just installing the one that doesn't work. That'll tell if its the ship itself or soemthing else proventing it from showing up.

u could also send me your mod files so i can take a look at them and c if i can find the problem

The ship I am trying to get to work is the Firefly ship, can't remember which creator did it however. The ships I installed with the script are the Sith fighter, the Hammerhead from Space Above and Beyond, a Cylon Raider, and the Firefly. I can see the first three ships in stations ready to be bought. I purchased the Sith fighter and wasn't happy with it but it worked.

I was thinking of starting a new game just to see if it was actually in the boron station, as my rep with them wont allow me in their systems without aggression much less access to their shipyard. If I knew the code to script a ship in I would try it to see if it was actually working, but I don't want to knowledge for that as the greed to just pop in free ships would overcome me I'm sure. I don't want to cheat just have different ships.

u could use the cheat scripts breifly, install them use the create ship script and it should via the list of all ships in the game.

then you can check if they are all there or not.

then just remove the cheat scripts again.

if there not in the game, then it might not be isntalled correctly, u could try reinstalling it to check it.
otherwise, u could send me your mod files so i can take alook at them

Ill try that... next time I get on at the house Ill start a new game to see if they are actually in there first and if not Ill drop you a PM and get you that file. I appreciate all your help thus far man thanks.

Hi Cycrow,

I just ran my Ship Installer (1.85) and tried to update, it downloads the 1.86 update then right at the end returns an error.
Error box is labeled: X Ship Manager 1.86 Setup
Error text says: There is no previous version of X Ship Manager installed - Update is canceled.

Any clue as to why this could be happening?
I've updated in the past without any hassles......
Just thought I'd let you know....

sounds like your missing the registry entries

it gets the directory form a few registery keys, if they arn't present then the update wont work.

u could just use the standard installer for it instead, that will also put the registry entries back again so upgraing will work again next time.

as for how it lost them in the first, i really dont know

Hi cycrow ive been using your ship installer for a while now and I have to say you are a total genius, i wish all software worked this well.
I am having one problem though and I know it isnt a problem with your install but i was hoping yopu could help. ive downloaded 3 ships from tensins website, the sith ship the jedi star fighter and the naboo tp ship but none of them appear ingame i can see their engine flares but thats it. do you know of any way i can fix this???

sounds like there missing thier models, u could try reinstalling the ships.

but there is a chance that those ships are currently broken, as tensin hasn't updated them in awhile

I'm sorry to bother you Cycrow. But I am having a bit of a fight :headbang: to have some customized ships installed on XTended mod and I don't know what else to try.

I've reinstalled the ships from scratch a couple times and even before and after the Ship Installer did the mod merge (no idea what it did but took about 10/20 minutes to merge Xtend mod to appear on the selected field). So I had the XTended mod select when I've re-installed the ships.

However I can't see them on XTend mod (they aren't listed). But I can see/use them on default/original mod :cry:

when you want to install ships into another mod, what you do is select that mod as the base mod.

this copies all the files from the base mod into the shipcreator mod.

then you install the ships which get added to the shipcreator mod.

then when you run the game you must select the mod package "shipcreator"

Hi Cycrow,

Just following your advice from here on how to get ships into different mods and tried to add ships to the Ashleys factory mod. When I did this the game just crashes immediately. Is this some incompatability issue with the mod?
When I switch back to running just the ashley mod it starts.

I'm not sure how shipmanager repacks the Base-MOD in with the new Ship Creator MOD.
When I've used it, the base mod files are not within the new ship creator .cat/.dat when I view their contents with 'X3 Mod Manager", so I've had to ADD the base mod files manually.

it should just copy all the files from the selected basemod into the shipcreator mod. But u have to let it do, it does take time, so if you get inpatient and interupt it, then it might stop before its finished.


For the crashing, is this when u load the game before it gets to the main menu, or is when you u try to load a saved game ?

that indicates an invalid data file causing the game to crash. Could you email me your shipcreator.cat and shipcreator.dat files and the ships.dat file from X3/ShipInstall so i can take a look.
