I have used cargo delivery service in the past and that works well with jumpdrive altho it helps to have the node supplying the energy because the ai on its own doesnt seem to like refueling =/

X3TC Update

Had a chance to check the TDock & HQ file and there have been no changes.

FDN should still work okay after the update.

Solar42 the thing with cags is that at apprentice level they wont trade using an eq or trade dock, that probably includes the PHQ. Set up a complex where the cag has to run all over the universe buying resources so he can get to courier faster.

Specifically I made a complex that requires food resources from 3 of the 6 races and lots of other stuff. My cag stays busy and in a few hours hes a courier and is ready to be transferred to node or trade dock duty.

Storm, I know and I don't see why it didn't see node one. I had a relay and adv. sat and all. Also its the second node I'm having trouble with. Oh well.

Not sure then. Only other thing I can ask is are both nodes the same type? I do know that makes a difference (in terms of range anyway).

I tried XL and XL and S and XL nodes, even in the same sector. Only thing I can think that is messing it up is something not installed right. And I'm to far into my empire built and so forth to redo the game installation. Spent to many hours trying to fill the XL node and get things built up. Hmmmm

They dont usually pack a new tdocks if nothing got changed. Patches only include the files they did change. I was just looking at the pack myself, and noticed a new one in there.

While it may not look like anything got changed, I would update the mod anyway with the new file.

In the Beta there was a new line in the TDock. I know that because i tested the Beta with FDN. Havent downloaded the release version yet but are you sure there is no change?

I must admit it was a quick look yesterday when I got back from London, and was a bit worse for wear! Will have a closer look after work and to be on the safe side update FDN, shouldn’t take more than a few minutes.

Hi Stealth,

If you upload your save (like last time) I'll be more than happy to investigate. Although I can't replicate the issue on my saves I may be able to trace the issue on yours and hopefully save your game?

I’ve survived this round of redundancies because India is doing such a crap job, so I’m safe for the next 3-4 months. I now have a breathing space to revisit FDN.

I’ll also add the ability to add user defined ware to the Node; the script is there for ASR so it shouldn’t take long to add to Nodes & Trade Posts/Docks.

Thanks and I'll see what I can do after I update the stuff. I really only remember part of the scripts I have in at the moment though.

Edit - I may be starting over anyhow, my Mod installer crashed and reinstalled it now lost my mod list in it hmmm. Oh well, crap happens.

Also I just sent you the links and the scripts/mods I have installed, anyhow what I believe I got in and the save file. Sorry for making you do extra work, and thanks for taking the time to look.

Edit 2 - I forgot to add to the list that I sent you, Missile Defense Mk 2. Also I destroyed the Node in Kuiper belt prier to uploading the file.

Still can't get your save to load:

- Clean install of X3:TC
- Patched
- Latest versions of your listed Mods & Scripts installed

Getting corrupted save :(

On Call over the bank holiday but hopefully I'll get time to sit down and go through it all again.

Is this very hard to use. Sounds complicated? I still have 1.4 because of steam will the new version work?

Also I already have an existing trade empire that has Partial complexes supported by transports for the goods that don't have connected to the complexes.

Does this pretty much get rid of transports?

It is pretty simple to use, it does eliminate the need for transports (depending on how your network is setup) either completely or almost completely. Theoretically 2 XL nodes can cover a straight line of 18 sectors or so (xl range of 6j, link 2 together @ max distance then anything 6j from either node :D). In general it is just dropping all the nodes, relays and adv sats that takes the time. Once everything is down it is pretty quick to link it all together.

My current setup covers all but 1 of the Terran sectors and between the 2 nodes (with freighters selling wares) and 4 trading stations I am starting to pull in a fair amount of cash as well as full weapon, shield and missle production for M6 and lower classes :D
