Well I`m a big fan of X series as You all are.
The main problem with EGOSOFT is they are Germans
-
what I meant is they reeeeealy like that their product have to be so shiny, perfect, mind blowing, jaw dropping and eyes popping that they just getting to a stage when it is hardly possible to think of something else (I`m mean common look at their native car brands - they are excellent in every bit) and then they will show it to world.
Sadly the biggest mistake they do is they do forget that no matter what they will do with first software of XR it will still need to be updated at some point and obviously the largest amount of testers are actually people to give them a hand are just cut off from this option.
I guess that XR was at stage of being shown to marked few months ago.
Now they just wait for an e-mail with a confirmation from God that their product actually will sell
So instead of showing it to us they will rather let us go f***ing mental than just sell it as it is
My guess it will be on '"store shelf's" within three months. (fingers cross

And the counter-example: Egosoft itself has a bit of a bad reputation for buggier release dates than Bethesda, to the extent that major publications have actually re-reviewed some of the X series after the first round of major patches.Nibel wrote:Gothic 3,Gothic 3: Forsaken Gods,Gothic 4 - sooo perfect !that even nowadays pc hardly handle them doe their perfectness..Timzork wrote:Well I`m a big fan of X series as You all are.

As long as Egosoft is using the delay to make sure the game runs 90% of the time on release, I don't have a problem with it. [obligatory whine] I just wish Deep Silver would let them tell us if that's what they're doing. [/obligatory whine]

when the game is designed with at least a little caution on the console the gameplay and control is initially simplified. bias toward action and shooting there. I would really like to play turned the keyboard into the control panel of a spaceship. it is an important element for X games. simplification steps towards consoles here strongly harmed.
often in the past was the perfect balance of all elements of the game. Well, the story and quests of serious SF make me glad. I am very familiar with the world SF and i was playing in the Elite at Spectrum.
aye - egosoft have poor reputation for release dates, but a great reputation for patches and free add-in patches.
why would need a programmer with experience PS3 x-box360?

want ads X-universe - make casual game for mobile platforms based on the X-Universe. at a low cost - a many of people know

It's not 2013, is it?CBJ wrote:I can tell you that, as with all other retailer release dates you may see at the moment, that is wild guesswork rather than insider information. Remember that retailers just want you to place a pre-order, and that in general asking people to place pre-orders for something without at least some kind of placeholder date doesn't work terribly well.
I can also tell you that the game is currently PC only. And don't read too much into that "currently"; I just don't have a crystal ball with sufficient fidelity to make me 100% confident in saying that it could never happen.
Where is it?

It could also mean that secretly a console is being developed specifically to play X games. I'm not saying that this would be very likely but if you're making up conspiracy theories, you should at least create interesting ones. =)elexis wrote:CBJ means that one day we might get a console that is actually good.
My complete script download page. . . . . . I AM THE LAW!
There is no sense crying over every mistake. You just keep on trying till you run out of cake.

I would have thought that the open letter from Bernd on the 14th Feb pretty much explained why there has been a delay.
He mentioned ES continued commitment to SteamWorks ( for good reasons ), and both the broadening out of operating system support through SteamPlay and the broadening of I/O methods towards the more living room/console paradigm implicit in Steam BigPicture.
Valve first talked publicly about SteamPlay and Steam BigPicture in a time-frame consistent with one or, more likely, both of them being incorporated into the new engine. This would roughly coincide with when everything went a bit quiet.
Certainly, if Bernd urges us to give Valve's vision "a leap of faith", then it would be consistent for ES to also buy into that vision and adapt their new title accordingly.
Given that Bernd also announces SteamPlay support for all X3 titles, and BigPicture support for X3:AP, it would be quite odd for those features not to be included in the new engine.
If this is not enough of a hint, the final paragraph almost spells it out
Announcement 3: X3: Rebirth to support Steamplay and "Big Picture" gamepad mode:
...
One could ask ES if this is what was meant, since it is strongly implied in an official communication from Bernd, but I guess if he was going to say it so directly, he would have.

The only thing missing from Bernd's post was...We do not rule out the possibility of our games also being released on other download delivery platforms, but not in the near future.
Steamplay, Big Picture, automatic updates and long term development of updates. All of these things combined should show that what we are collaborating on here is to build a platform for games in the future; a platform that can stand the competition of console games and exist next to it for the longer term.
