I think he means the Hoshi, which is listed in the manual as a Yaki carrier but is not seen in-game.007bradz wrote: Yaki Carrier? The Shuri? I almost boarded that. In Weavers.

More stuff for free...
I might be in the minority but I feel as though with this new release I am ripping EgoSoft off.
Why, I here you ask...
Well, bought X3 - Reunion for £3.99 from Game some years back and only paid £17.99 for X3 - Terran Conflict from Play on day of release. I have had many many many hours of enjoyable gameplay. installed many many many updates/patches/bonus pack/XTM etc and now they want to give me some more missions for free.
How do EgoSoft make any money? I even searched the site for a Donate! button to ease my conscience.
Nice one EgoSoft, just one more thing to do and you are my idea of a perfect games company....release an approved no-cd patch.

Buy more copies and give them away. Not only do you give more money to Egosoft, but you can bring in new players and people who may buy future games. Alternatively, send pizza.

i've isolated the problem in my own testing...eladan wrote:ES are well aware of the performance problems some people are having, but as I've now said several times - they need to find the problem before they can fix the problem. Keep in mind that not everyone in the ES office is adept at finding these sorts of issues, so in the meantime, while the relevant people were trying to find the problem, the other creative types added some content.Corpse_Maker wrote:They are releasing new content and the performance issues were not fixed? What kind of a joke is this... I have a state of the art system which can play Crysis 60+ FPS all Highest... and this crap is below 30-10FPS... Get your heads out of your a**, and fix the performance issues people have, or you haven't noticed a 30+ pages Thread?
...Unless you'd prefer they sat on their thumbs and did nothing, so you got no content as well as no performance fix?
it has to do with hitting the max allowed memory...
when memory is dumped to load needed data some needed data is also dumped from time to time restarting the process.. several times... and sometimes many more times than that.. you can see this for yourself if you play the game in a window and also have task manager open with colum for 'memory (private working set)' and 'peak working set (memory)'.
NEVER EVER EVER BUY GAMES FROM STEAM THEY WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY AND WALK AWAY LAUGHING!

I've always wanted to have PBC forges, I bet they'd make rather nice weapons with some REAL shielding around them.Dragoongfa wrote:The only way to use those guns is to script them in, they do exist in the data files of the game but they don't make an appearance.
Plasma Beam Cannons are nasty on a Cerberus.

Everything sounds great - except the name. X3: Terran Conflict 2.0 - Aldrin Missions.... too much!
I wouldn't mind seeing a change to The HUB, either, though so far I like the length. I would just like to see a bit more variety in what was required for it. I'm sure that thing could use some space flies....
Regarding Aldrin...
For the performance patch in 2.1, I hope they tell us what the problem was. It's got me curious! Garbage collection? Texture loading/unloading? I've never seen stuttering like that in a game before except with some big, high tech graphic thing was trying to happen.[/spoiler]

At the end of the mission, their embassador was chatting about putting in Terran-system-style gates into their sector. Maybe they will divide the sector up and put those gates between the new sectors?

Any news on a UK release date?, also I don't see why a european developer is releasing something in the US first anyway, yeah there maybe more users in the US but still, this happens for almost every game title, which annoys me somewhat... but an european release date would have been something to offset that annoyance...

I'm not entirely sure what you are complaining about here. Where are you getting the idea that something is being released in the US first from? The game has been out in Europe for months and this is the first time the US players will get to buy the game on disk rather than downloading it from Steam. The news article states that existing owners of the game (such as you) will be able to download the patch at the same time as the already-patched game is released in the US.fredmxm354 wrote:Any news on a UK release date?, also I don't see why a european developer is releasing something in the US first anyway, yeah there maybe more users in the US but still, this happens for almost every game title, which annoys me somewhat... but an european release date would have been something to offset that annoyance...

We've looked into the performance problems and so far the feedback has been positive, although more testing is required which means it will most likely follow 2.0.
Harsh performance issues for computers with >2GB of RAM has been addressed though.

Thanks a whole lot for the efforts in the performance area, keep it up!
