they should work, for custom ships you'll need to recreate the mod files after the patch has been installed thou, load up the installer and select the "Update Mod" option, and they'll be recreated using the changes made to 2.0Syndrome wrote:Ok. And, secondly. I realise I won't be able to run this in conjunction with the Xperiment Fusion Project but will I be able to run individual scripts and custom ships?
The BitTorrent was a good idea, i was getting like 1mb/s off it

im surprised there havn't bene many windows software using bittorret, its pretty pretty heavily for Linux

Yay for the update!!!!
I have to admit a small disappointment though. The first thing I tried was the plot mission. Did the first patrol, then went to the Goner Temple. As has happened consistantly, I get in the turret, get rammed by all the drones because the gun seems to have no effect, and then take on the first three pirates. Each time I get their shields down and their hulls down slightly, and then they are past. Once the third one goes by, game over. Now I've got the auto aim thing on. i'm not out of laser energy according to the red line under the gun, and there's no noticable slow down so it's not my non-top-o-the-line computer. So 2.0 updates in, and I still can't touch the plot... It would at least be nice to run through it once, but that turret mission is ridiculous.
I'll go back to my non-plot game and check out the new goodies.

For anyone having this problem, here's what to do (worked for me). DO NOT use the shortcut in the Start Menu. It isn't taking you directly to the X3 executable. Instead, go into the directory where you installed X3 (default is "Program Files\Egosoft\X3 Reunion". You'll see a file called "X3.exe" (or just "X3" if you've turned off extensions). Only been frozen there 20times for over an hour now.
The first time I loaded up X3 it was fine after installing 2.0, then I had to go out for an appointment, shutdown comp.
Come home, boot X3, no good.
"The feature your trying to use is on a cd-rom/disk that is not available"
Yet I have the cd in the drive, regardless, it's now supposed to be No CD.

Wow, I really feel like I should be paying for this. X3 has become my favorite game ever over the last months, and Egosoft are my favourite developer too.
This isn't in place of the expansion pack though, is it? I'll happily pay money for the expansion pack referred to in the thread about BBS missions.

I am just asking for a clarification to a point on page 3 raised by Vindicator O`ren and replyed to by player.
Is this the recommended install path from a fresh install:
Install X3 from CD or DVD.
Install 1.4.03 Update.
Install bonus Pack.
Install 2.0.

Well, since the update requires good relations with the split and the paranid, the extra missions are no good for me. I at least hoped that I could now enjoy my shark with actual working turrets.
20 seconds into the game I see that 2 of my turrets are broke. They wont fire, and they show that they are equipped with 4 alpha impulse ray emitters. Interestingly enough, those gun positions cant take alpha impulse ray emitters. Whats even more interesting is that I dont even have any alpha impulse ray emitters. Any attempts to change the weapon loadouts fail, and automatically equip non-existent alpha impulse ray emitters.
Sigh. What is one to do?
And for those of you having problems with the initial install of the update, remember that your desktop shortcut no longer works after the update install. Erase your desktop shortcut and link to the one created in the game folder directory. If you dont do this, you will see some wierd errors.

All i can say is thank you!!!!
Since i bought X3 i have been very annoyed with the SF protection restarting my PC 3 out of 4 times as soon as it detects the media. Loved X2 (completed and unmodified), am totally new to X3 and having lots of fun now... SO much to explore...
To all involved with bringing this and some great scrips to loyal customers/fans THANK YOU!!!

First, before you assume everything is broken, try flying to a different sector. Changes to models and turrets quite often don't take effect until you do this. Second, check what scripts you have running in case any of them are turret-related.snyderm wrote:Sigh. What is one to do?

Flying to a different sector didn't fix anything. I don't have any scripts installed at all.
Maybe its just MY ship that is bugged. I will try selling it and buying a new one.

I sold my ship and bought a new one. The alpha emitters aren't there anymore. The turrets fire sometimes... In a couple of locations anyway. Are they supposed to fire through most of its range of motion? The down turret can only fire about 1/3 of the way through its range of motion. Is that the way its supposed to be? I would think that it should fire where ever you can point it. So I guess they dont work. 4 of the 6 turrets seem to fire pretty well, anyway. Before the update only 1 would fire at all, so I guess it is an improvement.

# You need to have a good reputation with the Boron and must not be an enemy of the Split or Paranid. ---- YES (what is the limit whith the borons?)
# You need to own at least one station. ---- I've got a lot
# You need at least 5 million Credits. ---- YES
And.... no mission after that. So do I kill myself now?
