OK here are mine, have done 4 benchmarks at different Screen Resolutions. To be honest at 1024 x 768 the image quality looks horrible and gets better the higher the screen resolution.

Raistlin UK. I am sorry to say, but you're benchmarks are complete lies. You get below my FPS score in X3, yet you hit 18000+ 3dMark05? If you hit 18k 3dMark05 you would have the fastest personal computer in the world. Also, you would have a 3dMark03 score of 40k+. I hit 11k 3dmark05 and 23k 3dmark03.... Also, the system specs you gave are not even par to mine let alone to a system able to achieve 18000+ 3dmark05 points.

Looks like a typo to me. He must have meant to say 12.8k in 3dm05.unfunfofmpc wrote:Raistlin UK. I am sorry to say, but you're benchmarks are complete lies. Thanks for posting results with AA and AF on guys, its nice to see how much of an impact they have on various cards. For me its important info when it comes to purchessing cards.
Got some bad news though.
After running my tests i tried using the setting that gave the best quality at the highest performance (see my last test result) and i found the in came performance was well below the demo results.

I would have suggested the it could be a CPU bottleneck if I hadn't noticed that you're using a 4000+After running my tests i tried using the setting that gave the best quality at the highest performance (see my last test result) and i found the in came performance was well below the demo results.

Strangely, the opposite is true for me.

When I run the Benchmark on the very highest settings my card can manage, it reports an average of about 21 fps and the slowdown is visible on-screen.
However, when I run the actual game with those same settings I don't see *any* slowdown and the game is smooth & playable in all but the busiest of sectors...

Yes, it will be. The full game relies much more heavily on CPU than the demo benchmark. The benchmark just tests the graphics end, not the scripts and internal processing of the game, which takes off another 5-20 fps depending on the sector.
arch2, it just doesnt make sense to me. With a 12.8k 3dmark05 score he should be hitting 70~ FPS on 1280x1024 w/ max settings all around. Instead, he hits a few fps below me, and I only hit 11k 3dmark05.
3dMark05 is a highly accurate benchmark, and its score directly correlates to the fps you will get in a game.

There's no way you are getting the same frames as me w/ a single X1800xt, and more importantly, 2.2GHz cpu vs my 2.8, and much slower ram.BSA[ESS] wrote:No overclocking!acrh2 wrote:How much was the CPU overclocked?BSA[ESS] wrote:BSA's Stuff

What I see ist that the CPU is the factor !

There would be normaly more difference. I think its the CPU and not so much factor by the graphic card.BSA[ESS] wrote:Graphic card name and driver used: Radeon X1800 Series Version [6.14.10.6587]

Thanks for the reassurance! I really hope I can play it ok.generalkorrd wrote:Vannus- The game is playable, just set to lowest settings, everything off, high performance in nvidia desktop. Big battles suck, roid sectors suck, but it's playable.
I'll be building a complete new pc sometime this year, but it will not be anytime soon unfortunately. More like next christmas probably... or when I can no longer stand these specs (which aren't actually that bad...)

It isn't necessary.

He's probably already watercooling. I'm the only person I know who has balls big enough to run a Venice @ 2.8GHz and 1.65V on air.unfunfofmpc wrote:UltraBaron, good choice of processor. Get some watercooling on it and you might be able to hit 2.85 or 2.9 ghz. Buy a 7800 GTX 512 MB and you will be able to hit 60 FPS on your current settings.

Also, his CPU is only2.2GHz but is it not a dual Core and has a rating of 4400+?!?! (ie. rated at equiv to 4.4GHz?)
Top notch

Its now not about GHz! Its about Cores

Watch out for the future Quad cores

Yummy!!!!

Yeah, but money is the limiting factorunfunfofmpc wrote:UltraBaron, good choice of processor. Get some watercooling on it and you might be able to hit 2.85 or 2.9 ghz. Buy a 7800 GTX 512 MB and you will be able to hit 60 FPS on your current settings.

The cpu stepping is golden - did in fact hit 2.8 at only 1.37v, but even then it hits 50c load at 22c room temperature - I'm guessing/hoping at 3 - 3.1 with good watercooling

Edit : @ acrh2
Not watercooling, yet.
Running the cpu on an XP120 heatsink. But the cpu doesn't like high temperatures at all - can probably get it stable on air @ 2900 - but then the temps would be getting closer to 55-60c - and the last thing I'd want to do is to OC-Funeral this baby

Vannus codecs cause huge performance issues and even though many may not know it, it effects alot of people, so check into that. Your minmium 1fps is a bit strange. Also, you will want to play @1024, with settings turned down.Vannus wrote:I've already put Rivatuner to 1.1 on the pixel and vertex shaders. I already closed all my programs. My hard drive is defragged. There isn't any viruses or spyware or any other crap like that. My drivers are fine.
Is there any way I'm going to play this game at a better FPS than that?
Thanks for the assistance. I won't be happy if I'm going to get stuck playing the game like this. I wouldn't have ordered it if this demo was brought to my attention (thanks Egosoft)
Very few people get 30 fps in busy systems, so don't worry.
