Still holding out for automated / crew operated turrets. :roll:

Just MacGuyver one to the top of the ship and send Yisha out in her space suit to operate it... :P

I hope we can add rooms and make ship bigger..... This way we can add more weapons and more turrets on ship :D
It's not world hunger because we can't feed poor,it's because there will never be enough to feed the rich .....

My spider sense tells me that the ship probably won't get physically bigger. :/ If the Pride IS extensible in that way, I'm gonna guess it will be in the form of empty rooms that can be given a function (weapon control, passenger quarters, freight storage, drone storage...) sort of like how you can add modules to your ship in Faster Than Light.

Yup and looks like you can take out top defenses and send in your boarding crews with less of a risk.

That was a typo, instead of "games" supposed to say "videos". Was surprised by it, hoping for a turret, but as pointed out, Skunk has two gun emplacements.

Because that's actually Yisha shooting from her window.

Agreed! I don't mind the Skunk handling like a fighter but hell, nothing stopped those from having turrets.

I'm more disappointed that ships don't have any shield effects animation (like Nexus or Sins of Solar Empire) :evil: And almost every ships gets destroyed in 3 seconds it's like they are made out of highly combustible materials :roll: Didn't they say they are going to change that :roll:
It's not world hunger because we can't feed poor,it's because there will never be enough to feed the rich .....

my theory on this its like civilian ships. a broad aexample would be a Humvee and a civic. im sure the Humvee can take a lot more punishment.

for what i can see in the videos the ships he destroys are taxis and short range drone freighters

Actually there are shield effects like in this video at around 12:00. They also said that the weapon damage and hull values were altered significantly for the demo.

Thanks for info I don't understand German :) I have already seen that but effects are poor it's like they are not there :(

That is because the blue effect is limited to a specific module. It might be quite complicated to have several shield effects - one for the whole ship and others for the modules. Imagine you have to hit the main ship shield first before you can hit the shields of the turrets. You wouldn't even bother hitting the turrets but instead simply destroy the ship hull. I think it is better how the've done it now.

But of course there should be shield effects for those ships which don't have modules as well. But since shield effects are already in the game, it might as well be moddable.

That sounds interesting :) So you are saying there is no more main shield or hull but it's more like you need to take out modules one by one and when you destroy all modules ships is gone :? :? :? (every module/turret have it's own shield and HP)

Edit: someone needs to translate that video :D

Not really, there is still a general shield for the whole ship, but as I've seen it, that shield stops reacting as soon as you hit the area where the module shields are located, so that only the modules take damage. Maybe effects at this point are difficult to animate. Having a main shield effect would mean it had to cover up all the other shield effects, which would be weird, since the main ship shouldn't take damage at that point - does that make any sense? :-p

That sounds interesting and much better than in X3 games(it gives me more tactical options than just taking out shield and HP to zero).... Who knows that part might not be finished yet... But I wish they add better animation (if possible )

Edit: They can always make something like bubble shield and when you fly close to enemy capital ship with your drone or your ships you can bypass it's main shield and target modules and their shields....( main shields can only protect you from long range weapons ) or something like that

That video also shows how you can destroy the engines of the cap ship to stop it from moving. It seems that the functions of each part of the ship will play a bigger role now in combat.
I hope there is some kind of command for your own cap ships to let them reinstall all the modules automatically that were shot away during a combat. I imagine it to be pretty annoying, if you had to fly your cap ships to a repair dock for every single pirate that just made it to destroy a turret.
