I hope their are plans to fix the Bala Gi Mission, currently you need a destroyer in order to get the Hyperion because the surrounding sectors are flooded with Pirates. Why get the Hyperion when you need a better ship to get it in the first place.

The Pirate sector locations were badly chosen to start with, just like the Sohnen one in version 7.01. If only the west Gate was not present in that unknown sector, then their would be no constant red line of pirate traffic.

I hope the next patch is more Bala Gi friendly.

I am having a fantastic time with the rest of the game though, great fun, love the new ships and such. :)

I just installed X3: Reunion, haven't even started playing it yet, and this mod looks really good, so my question is, should I wait until after I finish the vanilla X3 plot before installing XTM? Or does it integrate seamlessly into the original game and I can still play the original plot line?

You should install it immediately, you can still play the original plotline, and you have to restart for the mod to work properly anyway.

You do not understand, perhaps because you read what you wanted to read, I was not talking about the Sohnen, I was referring to the long constant red line of pirates that have suddenly turned up.

Thank you pjknibbs for taking the time to understand. :)

 Dear Developers-Creators ! I've an idea to You ! Could You design and include in XTM7 different stations in future - Example - Plankton Fafm better looks in X2 than in X3 and many other examples - there are a LOT of factories in differens races (Split, Boron, Paranid, Argon, Teladi) that even looks THE SAME now - it is so bad, that Egosoft can't realize unique stations for each type goods in X3Reunion, but You CAN do it. Example - if i look at Cahoona Bakery station I'm sure that it Cahoona Bakery but not other station... Each Type of Stations should have unique image - is it so huge work to do this ?! Thanks !

I do wish the moderators would stop bleding these threads together, it makes it impossible to find anything by using the search.
I mean, 400 odd pages to look though, PLEASE!!!

questions about a specific mods have always been kept in single post.

The forum is not dedicated to a single mod.

if you wish to search for specific things, maybe you should try the offical XTM Forums

You could always use the XTM forums themselves to find info too.
http://www.thexuniverse.com/xtended/

The search function in the forums there is very functional.

My point is,
that anyone searching for one perticular fact will have this thread come up,
which is now 479 pages long,
covers many different aspects of the XTM mod,
and will swamp the searcher,
who will then start another thread looking for the answer,
which will be added to this one etc etc.
Ultimatly creating a thread that has all the info anybody would ever need, but impossible to read.

Kasabian: good point about requiring an M2 to get the Hyperion; I'm stuck on the Bala Gi missions at this point and I've decided that I will have to significantly grow my combat fleet to the point where I can actually take on Maelstrom.

Kipper the Fish does have a point IMO - it seems a bit strange to have one thread dedicated to this mod especially as 480 pages worth of posts show that it's popular enough to warrant more. I've tried searching for things before and been given this thread to look in...not much help when you then have to wade through all the pages to find what you want.

Given that the mod is now hosted by Egosoft (and therefore considered 'approved') perhaps it would be prudent to either 1) set up a sticky with a link to the 'official' XTM forums and/or 2) set up a new section dedicated to this mod.

Still having installation problems.

Post by JIM COLDHAM »

Right O.K.
Following the accusations that i cannot read etc. I have gone right back to basics again in my bid to get this XTM Mod installed.

I have now for the 4th time, cleared my computer hard drive of anything to do with the X-Universe. I re-installed X3, added the 2.02 etc update to transform to the Bala Gi upgrade.
I have then followed the instructions AGAIN to a tee. And the Mod still isnt working and i still get the same message when i start a new game, this being about placing the Cat/Dat miles into the mods folder.

So far, i have ensured that i have the full 337 Mb edition downloaded
This i initially saved to My Documents.
I unpacked this using Winrar which gave me the contents marked as XTM.7a as a yellow folder.
Following the instructions, these state to Open the RAR archive and extract its contents into the X3 Reunion directory - it then states that this is the one were the X3.EXE file is located.
PROBLEM 1 - I cannot see this file (X3.EXE) anywhere. I have even searched the entire computers hard drive, files and folders etc and this file is not listed.
SO i unpacked the folers into the X3 Reunion folder regardless.
I dont have a Dat or Cat file higher than 9, so the 10 - 11 files incorporated into XTM.7a should load in O.K. without the need to change their numbers.
I have unpacked the soundtrack folder into the X3 Reunion\soundtrack folder - No problems here.
I have installed the Cycrow Installer and added the Xtended Mods Scripts+Patch-V0.7.2-26.06.2006.spk as specified.
This has also installed O.K.
I then closed this installer as stated.
Loaded the game and started a new game but it still states that same old message about Cat & Dat files needing to be placed into the Mods folder.
Its driving me nuts.
Its obviously something simple that is amiss here but as i am not an I.T engineer i cannot fathom it out.

Someone on the XTM forum had the same problem exactly but he was given suggestions to no avail. Eventually he replied that he had fixed the problem by moving one of the files but did not state which one and to where.
I know that i have all the required pieces but something is just in the wrong place.

When i go into the X3 Reunion file, this being the one that appears after i click on the EGOSOFT folder within Programme Files. This has now displayed all the Cat files from 1-10, No Cat/Dat 11 seems to appear however but this was definitely downloaded with the rest of the file.
It also has the files for Mod, Scripts etc, etc.
Do i leave the yellow XTM.7a file in this folers along with the rest or does it have to be moved into one of the files within the X3 Reunion folder.
So far alot of fellow gamers have tried to assist but each stated a different place for the file to go and i have tried each with the same result.

Am i missing something and is there another file marked X3.EXE that the XTM.7a file should be with.??

Any help please as i have already followed the instructions to the letter but it just isnt working for me. My P.C is up to the job so there should not be any problems there.

Regards.

JC weird question, but did u take the xtm cat file outa the xtm7a yellow folder and place it in the x3 reunion folder with the rest or did you just place the yellow folder in there as is? The way the end of the post was worded it is hard to tell.

Duplicate stations...?

Post by Argon-419 »

I realize this should probably be under the Scripts and Modding section, since it has to do with XTM, but I think it would get better coverage if it was up here.

Anyways, I installed XTM last night on X3: Reunion v. 2.0.0.2 on Windows Vista 32-bit, and I noticed that after the install there would be random station duplicates, mainly in core sectors. Most concerning is the dual shipyards and dual Eq Docks in Argon Prime. So what gives?

By the way.. this is XTM .7a.. would the .72 patch fix it?

It doesn't matter which forum you would get "better coverage" in, this is an XTM issue and it belongs in the XTM thread in Scripting and Modding. (Or you could ask on XTM's own forums). Moving.
