Eh?, can't see the bit where can you can build ships remotely while being away from the shipyard's zone,
or did I misunderstand you ?
No, you understood correctly. The following snippet from the changelog brought the good news:
• Beta 4 Added possibility to talk to Ship Dealers and buy/sell ships remotely via the station's communication conversation.
As long as we have a Trade Agent on a Shipyard, we can remotely convo the station via the Zone Map and speak with ship dealers. From anywhere in the game, this lets us ask to buy, sell, repair or add drones to ships. Since the buy/sell screen shows if a shipyard is free or not, we can simply talk to a different Ship Dealer if the first one is busy. By typing "shipyard" into the map's search box, the process is streamlined further.

You think that THIS situation will happen again after the next update?!
I just wish this forum had a bar on the left that could display my faith...and I can already tell you,it would display some negative value below zero.

That depends on the original cause and on the version of the game you took that screenshot under.

For example, Station 1 does need Plankton too, and the amount the Vulture is carrying looks like it was enough to take Station 2's stock below it's limit if the screenshots were taken after the Vulture picked up the Plankton. As to why it was only carrying so little, I don't know. Perhaps Station 1 has ran out of Bulk storage?

Alternatively, if at some point you had cancelled a Soy Bean trade that could have lead to a bug that is said to be fixed in the 3.60 beta:
• Beta 2 Fixed trade reservation clean up when canceling trade plans on player-owned ships.
Or if the station has no Trade Offers, one might have been taken up by an NPC that could be on the way or may have been killed after reaching FoO.

Sparky Sparkycorp wrote:Yeah, mostly corrections as normal with a collection of improvements and new things at the top. The fixing of plot NPC shipyard and station construction, and the new ability to remotely interact with ship dealers are probably my favorite changes.

It's nice not to have to travel to use a shipyard, and very nice to cut out the possibility of finding they lack resources and that I might have to find a different one. I can just focus on shopping and/or supplying for profit.

Thanks for the link.

I'm surprised as few weeks ago I was searching for the Public Beta section that everyeone talked about and I couldn't find it, but there it it. :?

What I want can be summed up in two things -

I want to fly different ships with markedly different performance. Fighters to capital ships, in some concept or another.

I want more/different guns. A single gun with the pistol/SMG/shotgun/sniper rifle mechanic holds 0 interest for me. I get that playing Payday 2. I want to fly a ship; the concept for that experience is best understood by looking at, say, X3. Or ED. Or SC. Or Evochron:Mercenary.

If that functionality was even just a part of X:R I'd buy X:R. There are some magnificent visuals in X:R and it looks like the trading/economy part of it is pretty awesome. Without those two things though I struggle to justify buying/playing such a game when it is compared to games like ED/SC/X3/Evochron/et al which do provide it.

You should've read the second post of this topic here, then. It is already confirmed that
the ability to change ships will come sooner or later, but the devs want to optimize X Rebirth
and the engine itself first, seeing as there are still several smaller bugs that need some love.

Can't blame them for improving the gameplay and making it more fluent, right?

We have taken on board the feedback we've had since the release of XR and we hope that the new game will appeal both to those who enjoy XR and to those who preferred the previous series. (...)

One of the features we know for sure that Egosoft is working on is GUI improvement, mainly in the map screen (issuing commands to your assets via map, selecting multiple units, selecting empty space to issue order like "move there").

Assuming that at some point we'll get multiple flyable ships and such flexible command GUI we could finally say that XR/new game is slightly better that previous X-games. IF they would make economy more dynamic then we could say that for sure.

Any chance that in the list of improvement there is something about being able to place your factories wherever you want? I mean, now you can "sorta" do that, problem is that for now is like if the points you can build are set to a specific distance from each other like in a big 3d grid...
This becomes a problem when you want to play smart & strategically, for instance in a teladi sector where a lot of Phonix jump in and attack one of my vulnerable factories I wanted to place another factory in front of it (toward the direction where the phoenix came from) to defend that spot with the new factory turrets thus making the whole perimeter safe, problem is I just couldn't build in that spot, even if it was huge/empty and perfectly suitable for building.

Actually, would be even better if you could just tell your factory WHERE to build the defensive turrets(even only the generic direction around your factory),like that one I was talking about had built a turrent in the back while the Phonix ALWAYS jumped in from the opposite side,so it was totally useless...

Are this little thing that ruin an otherwise good game experience and turn it into the most frustrating experience ever, and also easy to address,so I hope they'll address this too with the next patch.

@Marcus: Nope, unfortunately not.

It would be nice if there would be some kind of small deployable defensive outposts (something with a few targon tracers) that player could deploy at any position to boost defences.
