Hotkey doesn't seem to work; I assigned it, but when I click it I get just a beep.

In fact, I haven't seen a single military transport since I installed the script... beginning to wonder if it's even working (I have the library files installed, and I do use two other scripts of Lucike..)

Mhmm, ok, it's somewhat of hidden in the manual ... do you have the correct argon and military ranks?

Recruitment of personnel

As a distinguished member of the Argon federation, military transports are marked in terms of color on the sector map. A blue marking indicates a transport currently transporting turret personnel, a red marking indicates an empty transport. (Federation Guardian / Fighter Chief)

-> Befehlsbibliothek "Libraries" (Required, newest version during revision of the manual: 3.4.12, 7th May 2010)

Prerequisites: X³: Terran Conflict Version 2.5 or higher (not compatible with X³: Reunion) !!



22nd April 2010 (Version 3.1.09)
  • Five additional Military Transports of the Argon.
  • Increased amount of possible recruitments per transporter.
  • Several small improvements.
7th May 2010 (Version 3.1.10)
  • Added additional security checks for personnel in use.
  • Several small improvements.

Attention: The automatic recruitment of Navigators will be over soon.

No, you don't need special software for this mod. After installing this mod, there is new command under Combat with MEFOS in its name. There, you can set different weapons group and see where military transport are (however you need to have combat rank "Fighter Chief" and race rep "Federation Guardian" to be able to see transports and to do bussiness with them).

If you have fullfied requirements, you just need to dock in station before full transport arrive (full transports have name in blue, empty in red) and after transport have docked, you will be hailed with offer of personnel (just don't forget you need cargo lifesupport system at your ship).

EDIT: I mean Argon rep "Federation Guardian" or higher.

Are you using old versions of the scripts, where MEFOS and MTP still didn't get fully seperated? In the most recent versions of MTP, MTP has its own hotkey to open the flight plan of the transporters. I think, it shouldn't be inside the MEFOS console too anymore.

I recetnly reinstalled TC, but last time i played (March, i think), there was MTP mod and MEFOS mod(two seperate), with route of MTP shown inside MEFOS console (IIRC).
I am not very good in english, so please, forgive me...

Ok, if that was the first half of march, it fits with the changelog:

Overall, script is great. But there is one big flaw - you HAVE to ally with argon to use it.

There is no real reason to narrow player choice to Argon only!
What with script like RFF, IR, MBR and other war-scripts? WHy player HAS to be on argon side?

I doubt Lucike will change that..I guess I need to fix it myself ;/

and there is plenty of things that could be done with races - for example if you want to improve your ships stats you'd need to employ a technician of given race (one that produced this ship).

With personnel transporter you can train any personell by yourself. I just have trained some navigator-traders out of marines, it works great. I though about completly deactivating military transports (the vessels, not the script itself as its the base for the personell) for my own game ... only problem then: Getting enough gunners for MEFOS :-)

Personally compared to MARS I like this script because those personal seem far more accurate... also... they switch out weapons according to what type of ship is harassing you, and they happen to leave the weapons in the turrets instead of what MARS does

is there any complete guide to use all of this script ?? start from jump beacon,personel and military transport, MEFOS, ECS and how to train the marines, i really mean from the start because to fully operate the script it has many links that seperate it but the function is back-up one to other

Just out of curiosity, Could "pilots for hire" for player owned ships (m3, m4 & m5, maybe even m6 class) be added to this?

I know X3 Reunion had them, it's just something I kinda miss. Thought it added something to the game even though they were still AI.
My mods for X3TC & X3AP

Been with the X-series from the beginning. If it happens in the X_Universe I've been there done that several times over.

where can I find an Argon Military Express Freighter, are they only available on Argon Prime?

The transporters fly through the whole universe. There is a flight plan, which you can access with high enough ranks after you set the hotkey for it in your control options. This flight plan will show the actual sector and the target sector of any transporter in the universe.
