[SHIPS] 32 BSG Ships in XSP- UPDATE Galactica Guns Fixed See PG 42.

Hawkbs,
Nice mods mate, I am a big BSG fan and your mods have increased my interest in this game.
However I have one question.
I am REALLY new to this modding stuff and when I load your Mk VII Viper in, I can load guns into slot 1 but they don't appear to fire, Can you please tell me if I have made some silly schoolboy error when loading them up with shipcreator?? (latest version just downloaded from Cycrows site).
Any help is much appreciated

Which version of the viper 7 was that? Try loading 6 guns into her. It may look like she only has three but there are 6 in total. Glad to hear you like them.Starting-Now wrote:Hawkbs,

Im testing the Mk2 atm I have fixed the hole in the starboard wing but I still have a couple of problems with some small textures. The one that you have should have the main textures though as they were included in the file and mapped.

I have loaded both versions of your MK 7.
In both versions (red/white - blue/grey) when only 1 gun is installed in slot 1, there does not appear to be any firing animations, I presumed this was one of the gun mounts on the tail as weapon positions 2,3,4,5,6 all fire correctly and gun 6 is mounted on the tail, but I dunno.
Like I said I may just have made a silly error when loading them up cause all your other mods I have loaded have worked fine.

Yes that does happen to me occassionaly still Cycrow. In fact it happened last night while I was working on the update for the MK2 and an uninstall of the ship followed by a reinstall did work.
I currently havent got balgot's Viper mk 2 installed though as its untextured, however the disappearing ships was a known issue with either shipcreator or shipinstaller that Cycrow is aware of. If you send him the shipinstaller.cat and dat files it would help him solve the issue as if its still happening to some people then theres obviously something he might have missed.

Nope, they were already in the models I converted. Im useless at uv mapping.
As for the Pegasus its a nightmare as its a single mesh and doesnt like anything but I have managed to get a greyish look to her. Ive even thought about making her an off whiteish colour, but Im going with a stealthy look. ( Dont even think about me exploding her in 3ds I tried that and ended up with over 1000 parts so forget that )
She is massive and I spent five minutes trying to work out how to undock her without destroying her or the spacedock. Theres a simple trick though which I will state when I release. Omg the amount of guns turrets Im putting on is crazy, and she also has inverted docking in the lower hangar bay. Still cant work out how to dock larger ships on her yet but I will release her without that if neccesary. I will also be releasing a low poly textured Galactica I got hold of at the same time and trust me I made her interesting too. hehe wave off...wave off. Thats a hint and a half.

Just succeeded in editing Hawkbs Viper MKVII (grey) which can be installed and used at the same time as the red MKVII. Thanks to Cycrow for his help. (see ship installer problems) If there are any would be moders out there, it is worth the effort to try do this - only then do you start to appreciate the work and understanding needed to create an Xsp.
Hawkbs - if you want the edited Xsp I'll e-mail it to you if you want.
Can't wait to use my Red and Grey squadrons!

Nah thats ok thx. I can do that no problem later.
My biggest problem atm is the darn cockpits on the Pegasus dont want to budge from one view as they all appear in the main cockpit facing the same way. I have all her guns done apart from the bottom guns. As soon as I get around this cockpit problem I'll put the rest of the guns on her and release her to the public. Its frustrating as learning how to fix cockpits on fighters was bad enough lol.

I'll help you with the Beast Hawkbs, I can also make her textures, lightmap, docks and turrets. Yesterday evening -in a moment of insanity- I have even started to model the typical BSG-type triangle Viper launchrail

Work on that has just recommenced due to renewed inspiration from S3 as well as Hawkbs's excellent conversions from other mods which now finally gives us the possibility to start contemplating on a serious dedicated BSG mod completed with a detailed order of battle and ragtag fleet 
Now I'm a quality nitpick so don't expect me to pop out a BSG in a matter of days, but if I can spare some time besides my main work for the Xtended mod, there's a good chance it will be flowing into BSG ships from now on.
