On average, I try to keep 20 UT (lvl 25) and 20 EST (Major Dealers). I have all the basics configurations, plus options, covered. The problem is that I constantly have to replenish approximately 25% of them daily due to loss by enemy. Is this normal? I thought the EST would avoid enemy contact better than UT, but this does not seem to be the case. Any help or guidance would be appreciated. I have tried and cycled through at least 100 ships of type VSF and Hybusa. I have not applied mil type shielding at this time. Will adding MEFOS with specialized personnel help? The cost of replacement and time is worth me adding functionality to my configuration if longevity is gained.

I would like to know what would the best way to configure these two settings for Maximum profits
Minimum profit
Normally, the EST pilot will look for trades that will generate at least 10% profit. This can be changed here.
Maximum product stock
Normally, the pilot will only look at factories with less than 50% of its maximum resources. This can be changed here.

Are there conflicts with the bonus package scripts as "Zandrox" mentioned in the previous post?

Can anyone confirm if this is working with AP and/or the AP Bonus Pack?
Edit: For me, it's not working; I've unistalled the Bonus Pack, enabled the script editor, and loaded the Befhelblahblah v3606 and Wirstchaftblahblah v3305 via Plugin manager lite 1.40, got the TS ready, got the command 'Start Sector Trading' usable, and when i enable it, there is a supposed config menu that doesn't appear. Ship is 'Searching for ware to buy' for a moment, than she go to Standby.
Ideas?

Not sure if this would make any difference but here is what I did. I didn't use the plugin manager. I made backups of the T and scripts directories that are in the /addon directory. After this run the install for the bonus pack. I then opened and extracted the EST and its required library into the /addon directory. When prompted I overwrote files.
The issue that I am running into is when I go into the command console of my ship and select Additional Ship Commands | None I get what appears to be a ship overview for a mix of CAG and EST ships. Rather than taking me back to the previous level of the menu as I would expect. I do not know if there are other issues or if this is specifically related to the EST or the bonus pack.
Aside from that above issue it is working fine for me. I have 15 ships running trade routines in 3 areas. Each of the 3 areas are 3-5 jumps from the ships home sector. In each market I am running 3 energy, 1 food/bio and 1 ore/silicon trader. They are working with the sat network I've deployed. They are avoiding sectors in the exception list. They are using the jump drives.
Additionally I have 10 CAGs in flight training flying around to 4 waypoint stations and leveling properly. The CAG pilots have transferred properly to the TPs with their level and and history intact.
I intend to keep checking the above linked site for any updates to this mod. If you look at the history you can see that he has updates a few to be AP compatible. But it does not yet look like he has done so with this script yet. As I am not fluent in german (I am using chrome's built in translator) I am not sure what his future plans are for this. I for one hope that he does make it compatible as I find it far superior to the default MK3 traders.

I've just started the game (AP), never played an x game before. I'm kinda lost, but I heard this is quite normal ^^
Anyway, some friends of mine gave me some survival tips, using EST was one of them. This script sounds great, but unfortunately I can't make it work.
I've downloaded it on Lucike's website (dl links of this thread are broken btw ...) .
I unziped "Wirtschaftshaendler_X3TC_V3305" and "Befehlsbibliothek_X3TC_V3608" into my game directory as described (ie steam/steamapps/common/x3 tc because I've bought my game on steam).
But ingame, when I go to my trade command menu, I can't find the "start EST command".
I have trade software mk1, mk2, command software mk1 installed on both my ships. I'm ranked entrepreneur (so higher than trader).
Am I doing something wrong ? Do I have to unzip the files in the adon directory as described by Zandrox ?

Right now EST is working on TC not AP. X3 AP uses the addon directory for its script and t files not the TC directory so all you have to do to fix your problem is unzip the archives in X3TC\addon.
1940s - Various "computers" are "programmed" using direct wiring and switches. Engineers do this in order to avoid the tabs vs spaces debate.

So, in using this with AP, the EST unit gets stuck in standby while docked at any Stock Market. If/when this is updated for AP use, that's one thing to take into consideration.
Good script though for TC.
Edit: Yeah I'm not really sure what's going on with this, as my EST unit has been stuck in standby mode at Argon Free Trade Station for over 2 hours.
There's a ware selected & a pilot is inside. It was working great for the first 10-20 minutes or so, then problems. I'm thinking it could be an issue with the mod + AP, or more than likely just my misunderstanding of how to properly use the new EST unit.
